Asunto: Season 67

I'm not concerned by anything I've seen. I've got a significant ratings advantage and only a screwup in the last game against Craiova should be a problem.

Won 5*1 last night, I haven't been on much as was at Silverstone all weekend with my son, a great weekend and great race!

Lost 9-1. 2 players sent off in a game against a full strength northern thistle who scored over 70 av player rating.

Would have lost anyhow without the 2 sendings off but goal difference has taken a hammering

2nd loss in a row after a really strong start to the season.

If you think of another country with similar number of users or whatever similar to ours, it'd be good to compare.
Right now, after tonight our top 2 Divisions are average mark are between 65.6(Premier) and 54 (2.03). The other 2 Div2 are at 55.5 (2.02) and 56.3 (2.01).

There are 3 other countries with roughly similar number of users and no crazy +/- xx users in last weeks

England 150, Belgium 154, Czech Rep 156 and France with 155

I already knew. I was only inviting other users to have a look into this as well.
I am afraid we don't do things very well in England (training, transfers, etc). It's not a drama, it's just a conclusion. It is a game after all. No lives will be lost.

Thank you for your contribution, borkos. We all love to be told off by you. I wonder which one of these Divisions will accomodate your 55.1 rating....

First you talk about comparison with other countries and when I do that comparison and it's bad for England, you're suddenly saying, that I'm telling you and others off.

In what way is presenting stats telling someone off? Do you often get offended by plain facts?

I could play for 80+ next week if I wanted to. I don't care about it.

Thats not really a telling off its it? Merely showing the stats.......in other words our divisions are weaker in general than other similar sized countries.

Age of sides is a big factor in ratings.

Many of the older high rating sides over the years have disappeared from England but other countries have retained those users far more.

Sensitivity level has been reached, I will refrain from replying to some users.

I was going to open a conversation with users from English leagues and find out if anyone else is bothered about being below the level of other similar leagues or not. Some of us (well, one of us) should be interested more than the rest as they compete against other leagues. Others train NT's and again, should be interesting if this is affecting them competing against other nations.

Well, it didn't last long.

I think it's good to debate this, and personally feel we do need to improve our levels. IMO people are attempting to train their own youths but I personally have had nothing great for quite a while now, which is a worry and the decline in the players available to the youth team is sad and you would think that if the game were fairly consistent on this that we should have the same quality of decent trainees as other countries....but I am not sure we do?

I'm not so sure about that to be honest.

Players keep roughly similar rating since 27 til 32 (especially now with shorter seasons) so there's not much difference between 27 a 32 average age - unless the team was created by buying 31-32 players only, but that almost never happens. At 27-29 it takes around whole season to get +1 in a high level [14+] skill.

Most of even the old [av. age 30+] teams with high ratings were created with younger players and simply got older. But it's not that important because it shows that the owner had the abilities to create a strong team [via training/trading] so he will do that again, or he will soon redo his team. Most of the time you see the same names as top teams in countries and if some of the leave the game, usually nobody takes their place as a 75+ team.

Anyway that's how it looks age-wise in the top leagues.

International competitions is a bit of a closed market with only the league winners and cup winners entering them. If the international comps were ever expanded, it's pretty much fact bar the odd exception, English sides wouldn't do that well.

Although the likelyhood of them being expanded any time soon is unlikely given the CC hasn't had any format changes whatsoever since it started.

That wasn't the age I was referring to.

Older side = more resources to buy better players etc
