Nice bonus to end the season:

Club received 2 £ from transfer of junior Curtis Metcalfe. 2024-12-09 01:45:09

Shows that selling all juniors pays off sometimes.

20k a week for a youth coach x 13 weeks = £260k a season
20 spaces a week for 12k x 13 weeks = £156k a season

£416,000 a season, and admittedly that's the cheap end. Add another 130k for a top coach. It's not cheap, but it only takes 1 decent player to pay for itself mutiple times over. Jackson Sweeney covered my costs for 2 seasons, Harry Lall sold someone for 3.5m and covered themselves for 7 seasons. Youths and training are really the only way to make money in this game (unless you're a dirty trading scumbag)

Worth also factoring in money from the resale down the line.

Eden Lamb netted me a pittance when I sold him for about 8k. But netted me 260k when he got sold on this season. So it's not always the immediate gains.

This still relies on players being talented of course.

There's also the players that you keep, that mean you then don't have to buy them. I think a decent youth system pays off eventually but it requires patience and luck. I'm still bitter about Cameron Maddison, he left my club for 70k and since then every transfer he's had has been over 1.5m

I use a lot of my own players hence why my transfers are so low. It’s possible but not easy and of course if you are only selling when you have a replacement you tend not to have much in the bank!

Would have expected perhaps more than 1 skill plop across the season. I know he's almost certainly gone down within levels but still at age of 36 thought would have been more decline than that.

My 72 yr old unearthly is retiring at end of season :(
My other 4 are a bit younger thankfully....

2 retiring. One of them is Mr. Gerrard. He's been with me since the start.

I'd already moved my retiring coaches on, was there any kind of news update or do they just "vanish"?

+ no coaches announcing retirement. Only 1 of them is eligible to retire but he's a sprightly 60.

I don't, they probably just vanish. I haven't had any retiring until now.
