Mad i was just writing i seem to come up against keepers that i cant score against with many one on ones

are they going to sort this out or leave it? it's pish like this

Nah, they introduced it over 10 years ago and it will stay with us...

extremely frustrating because you can't really do anything about it, if it triggers you are more or less effed up.

just some examples that I had with Germany

Honduras - Deutschland 0:3
0:27 shots

Deutschland - Honduras 4:0
24:0 shots

Deutschland - República Dominicana 5:1
20:1 shots

These 2 were funny though, since both teams used same tactics, same players, only the finishing part was "a bit" different

Daehan Minguk - Deutschland 0:11
2:36 shots

Deutschland - Daehan Minguk 3:0
33:1 shots

So one week 11/36 (31%), the other 3/33 (9%)

In such cases it's not a big deal because you are winning anyway, it's just a matter if you win 2:0, 5:0 or 10:0... because the opponent's quality is very low, so the handicap doesn't go crazy

It's much worse when you dominate a team that in general has good players [17-18 GK, 16-18 striker etc.]. Then everything turns into a freakshow. Got that during the World Cup, one of the worst things you can experience in the game.

Ah i thought it was recently , that's ok then as long as it's the same

So it's not just me thinking that the goalkeepers have way too much advantage? (Funnily enough, mine is underperforming vs his skills and form).

I am going to have to repeat myself: I'm not contesting the game engine or the skills whatever. I'm only sharing my experience.

GKs have too much advantage because of the way they created this game

GK really needs only 1 skill at high level, goalkeeping and basically everyone can have a 17-18 goalkeeper at this point, they go for peanuts when older. Pace is useful but 11-12 won't kill you and passing... 10 is fine.

At the same time it's much harder to create a striker with 17-18 in striker skill while also having enough pace & tech to get through the defence. So often the ATT on medium level is not 3x 18 or 3x 17, but 17-16-15 or worse. And a 14-15 striker has to shoot against a 17-18 goalkeeper. At lower levels or u21 NTs you have 11-13 strikers trying to beat a 17 goalkeeper.

The solution was always obvious, dividing the goalkeeper skill into two skills:

reflex/positioning [making a save] and ball handling [catching the ball instead of punching or having butter fingers]

this way to make a good enough GK you would need at least 2 very high skills and 1 decent, this would make the playing field much more even

Agree keeper needs 2 main skills and pace, passing is where they went wrong, like you say split goal keeping into 2 skills

Darn it! I should pay attention. This changes things a lot...always wondered how they'd get more money out of the game...

Yeah, to be honest I like it, especially the way it's devised... lower tax (8%) for youths and long-term players, extremely high / high tax for short-term players. It basically killed the fast-trading market, while it didn't affect negatively the training-oriented trading, since after a whole season of training the tax is already acceptable.

Obviously, one user didn't predict another user's game. Coz he is the 'grown up', isn't he? :)))
I'm pretty sure he will come with one those culturally different excuses any time soon.

I beat Padstow 2-0, annoyingly I have now lost my best striker for the Wednesday match but that does mean he’ll be back for the Champions Cup qtrs.

Padstow are tricky so I am pleased with the win nevertheless.

I must remember to do predictions early - I’ll do Wednesday once they are up.

Disappointing crowd of only 39,000……really need more to avoid making losses.
