To be honest, no other country has better food than Poland. I visited every country in Europe bar Belarus. Polish kitchen is by far the best.



Nice words... being in Poland now for over a month I got a bit fat from all that food :p

It is kind of funny that Polish people usually eat "Polish menu" at home while they go to restaurants for non-Polish food, lots of Italian/Indian/American/Chinese etc. restaurants.

Good restaurants with Polish cuisine are fire though, especially with more interesting dishes than pierogi etc., like deer meet.

And you can't beat a good tatar for a starter;)

Never eaten Polish food, do they cater for vegetarians well?
When I ate meat i went to the Czech Rep, where it seem to be meat with meat sides no veg or potato , maybe it was just the place we went to? I think although i can't have too much tomato I nominate Italy to have the best food, fresh produce is easy to grow there, and best wines [Primitivo]

Not being a meat or fish eater i found Spain behind in the vegetarian world

I love olive based pepper sauces with red wine added to the plant mince with fresh herbs. Leek, Potato, Garlic, Chilli, topped with a special extra virgin olive oil
pea protein penne, , and cooked in air fryer with seasoning Courgette, nearly forgot the main ingredient , split chickpeas! [boil first]

Meat and Fish tastes pretty rank without any seasoning, so i feel people don't know how to season foods if they did they might become vegetarian too, or it just comes down to texture then.
Ie plant based foods also need a squeeze of Lemon or lime & tartare sauce on the fake fish, burger sauce on the asda plant burger, without they are no good

Yeah, in bigger cities you will find only-vegetarian restaurants and most restaurants will have vegan options available.

Even some traditional foods have vegetarian versions, like you can get pierogi with cabbage & mushrooms.

And yeah, Italian food is my personal favourite. Amazing how good you can eat in small, family restaurants in Italy.

Spain was a huge letdown for me culinary-wise, everything seemed more like a fast snack to me.
