Asunto: Tactics League

I've seen so many teams building up nicely but not managing to get over this barrier. I mentioned a couple earlier.

I think you just have to maintain position for a while we're you're building your fanclub and stadium. There's no point trying to build a team that you can't financially support and that will need tearing up by the time that you can.

Yep. I'm the best example I could think of. 30 seasons and I'm still living on the edge.

But getting back to my point about Division 2, I can see a lot of improvement in players value/ratings but not so much in tactics. This why bot teams are getting the results. Fenland's and Aubergine's managers were doing a great job from this point of view. I played against both of them in the past and I know it first hand. I noticed Inter Row manager is desperate for tips on tactics. I haven't watched his games but I've noticed his attacking tactic is pretty good, judging by the number of shots each game. If he reads this, it's like this: a tactic gets good in phases. He needs to work on the defensive side of it and maybe mids protecting the defenders a bit more. There's no magic about a good tactic, it requires a lot of cycles until it gets to work. Most important thing is to use the players within their limits. If you expect a player to do more than he can, it's not going to work.

Watched a bit of his game against Man U. High line with not so fast defenders was not a great choice. On the other hand, really unlucky in front of goal, they should've scored 3 in the first 10 minutes. Maybe a bit more compact at the back and not so high up the pitch.

Appreciate the words, and for sitting through a bit of our game(s).
Was just a bit of a culmination of the last few seasons, i know the team aren't world beaters but should be good enough to not get into another relegation scrap on the final day. I often feel i dont get the maximum out of the team and always seem to get fairly comprehensively beaten by teams of a similar and higher level.(as shown by the last few finishes in the tactics league etc..) which has also slashed my gate receipts as the fan mood has been below about 20% for ages..

Have been scouring forums and people have been very helpful in sharing advice as to how to create better tactics rather than just giving a plug and play copy, and i think i was a little confused in relation to the "ball" on the tactics screen and line heights etc... I know its a lot of tweaking and match ups against the different opponents and i would often get caught offside alot last season so no doubt have probably dropped the strikers too deep at times. Defensively has been a big problem for a little while, recently being burned with the pass in behind but also previously being deep and overrun in midfield or lacking goal threat.

Obviously im not expecting to win every game but my team has definitely plateaued and i should be able to eke out a bit more than what ive been getting.

High line is one of the best tactic. But it needs to be doubled down by dynamic mids and strikers with tackling skill and pressing. And, most importantly, the defs need playmaking at a decent level and pace, the more, the better.
I was a bit unfair to comment on a few minutes of your game against a really good manager and a team with really good players. Your attacking players look really good going forward though.

No not at all, just saying what you saw and ill always take advice from those with more experience. Yes the last 2 matches were against v good managers/teams so no real surprise in the result, tried something a bit different in the last match and could of scored on another day but defence (and my slight reluctance to use a 5 man defence) Is something thats needed brushing up on.
