I absolutely could be one of those able to train youths well given my setup and also knowledge and that’s why I get so fed up with not getting a decent one for 6 seasons :(
I have bought 3 lately and will try my best to make them as best as I can for England longer term too.
Other the next couple of seasons I really will aim to try and get more. Pickles, Scholes and Freedman are all fill NT potential I hope. Gazza and DiCanio will be sold soon as I never thought they were but I hoped to get youths myself to replace them.

With you it's a bit complicated because you can waste players in your league. You can't win a strong league like you have and train your players for 99-100%.
It has to be people who are not interested in playing for results and people who just want to train their players.
You can't have your cake and eat it too :p

I always train to 96% on all players. The risk of getting 100% often leads to injuries and lost weeks of training. ;)
I manage to shuffle players in the cup etc in doing so, if I get more younger trainees then it’s more difficult of course.

But you'll admit it's hard to field a 16-17 year old player in such a league.
I also usually gave the players that 96% of training.... and what I've observed now is that this 4% extra over several weeks can make a really big difference.

Oh I don’t disagree it’s hard.
I don’t believe losing 5 weeks training is worth an extra 4% over 3 seasons however.

2 words for you.
Toby Steward
Instead of a "future star" pick a current one in form!

I'm aware of him and I'll show you, without showing you, why he's not in the squad.
(20) Jansen 44
(20) Dribble 44
(20) Stewart 43
(19) van Nistelrooy 42
(19) Mazur 41
We only need 2 wingers in a 28 man squad and right now those are Jansen and Dribble. I could put him in ahead of van Nistelrooy and Mazur, but is it worth it when he'd still only be 3rd choice? Long-term it's more valuable to have the 19 year olds. There's also another reason relating to his skill distribution, which I'd argue is weaker than the other 4 (see also Gerrard Lambert)

Dribble Form Excellent
In non competitive matches, there's no gain from a particular player being in the squad or not - training benefit only happens in competitive games. There's a fair few players playing in the lineup in excellent and below form, when margins are as thin as they are priority should go to those in form. There's also no reason to pick a squad at the start of the season and not swap players in and out.

In non competitive matches it's up to the manager who he wants to play to prepare his squad for how he wants to build for the next campaign whether that's yours or mines or anyone's players end of.
When i was U21 your players were good and were promising but they weren't the best because they were younger
I'm not saying it is, but there's a number of players not in the best form playing.
Hes the boss mate......

It does benefit a lot with form but some times skills benefit more as you will know
I do squad reviews every 4 weeks along with the big skill update, that's typically when I update the squad and it's due again on Thursday. I don't like constantly changing the squad, especially not based on form. I'll also add that van Nistelrooy was ahead of Stewart until he got injured a couple of weeks ago.
Everything is based on some kind of logic or structure. As I've said to you many times, we have to establish not only the current squad but also the players who are upcoming. This one wasn't a difficult choice though, Stewart loses to all 4 on Pace, he loses to 3 on Passing, he's 2nd on Tech but not by a big margin.
