Asunto: [U21] WC Quali

I haven't watched the game but noticed West scored so it must have been a good game

USA - ITALY
3 points are in. The next point(s) can be won today.
Our U21 has nothing to lose. But really much to win.

"Italy wins 8 out of 10 games against us. They are strong. But, we have a chance in 2 of these 10 matches. And today we hope to have such a good day", explained Andreasson before the game.

Our chance...
... is to fight and to play soccer.
"Only defend won`t work. Italy will score, I am quiet sure. But we can play soccer too. We have to create chances. And score goals."

How will we play?
Surely not too offensive, but not too defensive too.
"It will be hard to find exactly the right mix."

So I hope to see a strong U21 today. And perhaps we can shock Italy and come one step closer to the World-Cup...

And after we'll play our chances twice with Uruguay.
Then we gonna be better, that matches will be essentials for us.

"Friendly" against Russia
Yesterday (!) the party after the 1:1 against Italy ended... The players have to sleep now and get energy again.

So this week we play U20.
"Great for us. The young players can show me their skills. And the older ones can recover for the next Quali-games."

Of course we want to win against Russia, also if it is a friendly.
"I am from Switzerland. But of course I know how important such a game is for the USA. It`s forbidden to lose."

Now I have to find the best U20 players.
"The game will be a surprise for me too. I don`t know all the skills of the players. But I look forward to see the players on the field. These players will play the WC if we qualify..."

Win against Russia (1:0).
Not really nice to watch, but this was clear with the young Players (U20).
So we are still unbeaten :)

USA - Ghana
Next game for the U21 in the Quali.
This time we face Ghana.

"In Sokker everything is possible. Always. But this game we have to win", explained coach Andreasson.
For the very first time this season our team will be clearly in advantage.

"Our strikers have problems. West and Delgado don`t know anymore, where the goal stands."
So it is possible, that other players score our goals (hopefully) today.

"The result doesn`t mater today. Win is win. 1:0 or 5:0 isn`t important."

So at the end I only hope to win. This is duty.
To have 7 points after 3 games (and a win against russia in the friendly) would be a nice start into this season!

I've been making West do double sessions everyday to get back in form :P

Hehe thats great. We need him :)

I'm going to start some long term pace training this season ~3 seasons. Hopefully he can make the NT in 3-4 seasons :P
