Yesterday we won in the round of 16 against Panama U20 1:0! The goal that gave us the win was scored in the 14' of the match by Joseph Loughlin, for whom it was the first goal in the national team. For the match against Panama, I developed a special tactic. We played 4 defenders and one very defensive midfielder positioned in the middle in front of the defenders. This time our wing played on the right side of the field. Our defense played great in this game. Our opponent played with 3 strikers for 60 minutes, but they only had 2 shots. It was a very even match, Panama lost for the first time this season. On Saturday we will play in the quarter-finals of the Mini World Cup U20 against a very strong opponent England U20. We will not be favorites in this match, but I hope that we will surprise our fans.

Today we achieved the greatest success in the history of the USA U20 in the MM U20 Mini World Cup tournament - we advanced to the semi-finals! Our opponent was very strong and had higher marks than us, but we had good tactics adapted to our opponent's game. Our forwards played great, we scored 3 goals and again we didn't concede a goal, despite our 1st goalkeeper was injured in the last league match. I'm happy to win against a stronger opponent, it was a very good match. I'm waiting for the draw for the semi-finals.

The draw for the semi-finals of the U20 Mini World Cup took place yesterday. On Saturday we will play against Ísland U21! I was the coach of this national team for the last 6 seasons. The new coach of Ísland U21 (Siwykoks) is very good, he eliminated much stronger teams - Moldova and Azerbaijan from the tournament. It's going to be an incredibly interesting match.

It was a fantastic match. Once again, we played effectively in attack and defense. I adapted the tactics to the national team in which I worked for the last 6 seasons. I knew their strengths and weaknesses and that helped in this match. We deservedly won and advanced to the Final, although Iceland played very well. We will play against Belgium on Saturday. Belgium will be a definite favorite in this match. From the beginning they are considered the strongest team in the tournament. We will try to make a surprise.

I knew it would be a very difficult match. I analyzed Belgium's matches and it had no weak points. We played a 4-4-2 in the first half, but it didn't bring positive results. Our opponent scored two goals. The first from a penalty kick and the second from an own goal. At half-time we changed tactics to a more offensive 4-3-3. We attacked more often, we even had two one-on-one situations, but Belgium scored the third goal. Our opponent is the first team in history not to concede a goal in the tournament. I am glad that we reached the final of the biggest U20 tournament for the first time. This is our great success.
Next week we will play a friendly match against higher-ranked Estonia U21, and in two weeks we will start the next tournament - Copa America U20.

For the last time this season we played with the U21 squad. We played a fantastic match and won against higher ranked Estonia U21 4:2. We were very effective in attack and deserved to win. Next week we will be back in the game with the U20 squad, because we are starting the Copa America U20 tournament. Our first rival will be Paraguay U20.
