Asunto: [U21] Tournament & friendly

We are miles ahead on Nicaragua on a U21 level. Just look at their starting 11, it's full of 18-20 year olds. They will definitely will be more formidable in a season or two. They only had one shot which I doubt was anywhere close to being on target.

I don't understand why every thread has to become a Adivip vs Releme thread. It is painful enough that the election is like 3 weeks long.

In the last match of the season we won against Uzbekistan U21 19:0. This is the biggest win in USA U21 history. Next week, just before the U21 World Cup, we will play a friendly match with the U20 squad against the much higher ranked Greece U20.

Yesterday we lost in a friendly match against Greece U20 1:3. Both teams played with U20 squads to minimize the risk of red cards before the inauguration of the U21 World Cup. As many as 9 players made their debuts in our squad. Greece U20 had a stronger team and deservedly won. We will already start the U21 World Cup on Saturday!

heck of an attitude for a coach.. they are barely rated higher.. and those ratings are based on how they are positions in the tactics.. per their skill set and the opposition.. so they can sway... and when you're that close in ratings.. and saying they are better...

Lol 5 ratings difference is a lot even at senior level, at u21 it's a massive difference, they were not 'barely rated higher'.

Agreed. As a one time U21 coach the differences between teams/match scores are massive.

at the senior level I think match ratings are less relevant since they are more a product of secondary scores and form. I'm more inclined to look at salaries at the senior level and even that has flaws.

It depends. 82-85 rating is not a drastic difference, as you say at this points it's more about sideskills which is helpful but not THAT of a massive difference.

75-79 is more of a difference in my opinion and it all depends on the details, the value/ratings in general are not crucial... for example I have one midfielder in Germany with very high value but I prefer others with lower value because of skill distribution and his value is made up mostly by a superdivine skill, while others are distributed more evenly.

On the other hand, there is a huge difference whether you have a 3x unearthly or 3x divine or 3x superdivine strikers. It also makes a huge difference if you have a top quality winger in form, with at least 17 pace & tech. Having 3rd nice central midfielder is much less important than that one winger, it makes a difference in every NT. If some have a winger with 18 pace & tech, they are truly lucky.

Shqipëria U21 - USA U21 1:5

Yesterday we won 5:1 against Albania U21. We gained points for the ranking and we are getting closer to keeping the 2nd pot before the WCQ draw.

USA U21 - Honduras U21 5:0

We won a friendly match against Honduras U21 5:0. I knew that our opponent played in the middle with offensively positioned forwards and four defenders, so I played with a winger on a wider pitch. It brought positive results, although we had to wait until the 59th minute for the first goal. Our defense played effectively, our opponent did not have a shot. We will play 2 more friendly matches and start the Gold Cup U21.

Latvija U21 - USA U21 0:2

Another friendly match won. We won against Latvia U21 2:0. Both goals were scored by 20yo Alfred O'Shea, who was brought on in the second half. We were better and won deservedly. We gained valuable points for the ranking. In 2 weeks we will play our first match in the Gold Cup U21.

Hayastan U21 - USA U21 0:2

We won our 4th friendly match in a row and gained valuable points in the ranking. In a week we start the Gold Cup U21. In the quarter-finals we will play against Canada U21.
