Asunto: [U21] World Cup

So far against Colombia U21 we have played 5 official matches. 1 time was a draw and 4 times Colombia U21 won. The goal balance is 2:12 in favor of Colombia U21.
For me this is a very uncomfortable opponent. Since I have been leading the USA U21 I have played 3 matches against them and all of them I lost 0:1, 1:2 and 0:2. I have not lost so many matches against any opponent.
For me, this will be an excellent opportunity to get a rematch and break the bad streak.

The Azerbaycan match was even and we had great chances early on.
They had one great opportunity, and were fortunate enough to capitalize on it via a rebound.

Just a bit unfortunate.

Unfortunately, we lost against Colombia U21 yesterday 1:2. We scored the first goal, but then we lacked skills and luck. The loss against Colombia means that the last match in our group against Argentina U21 will be our last. However, we want to fight for 3rd place in our group and say goodbye to the tournament with honor.

Yeah, caught the game this morning. They did catch some breaks and when I saw the match report I was surprised to see it 14-4. Didn't feel that way, watching it.

The opponent used a different tactic than the one I was prepared for. I thought he would play on the wing and place weaker defenders on his left side. I changed the stadium to a narrow one. It was completely different, he surprised me with new tactics.

I regret that 20yo Alfred O'Shea, who was supposed to play in the starting eleven, was injured on Friday evening and was unable to play against Colombia and will not play against Argentina. He is a great striker and I am sure he will score many goals in the WCQ.

On Saturday we will play the last match in the U21 World Cup against the leader of our group, Argentina U21. Argentina is playing great in the World Cup, they won 2 matches and did not concede a goal. We want to say goodbye in good style and show that we deserved a place at the U21 World Cup. It's hard to believe, but never before in history has the USA played against Argentina in an official match. This will be the first match. I played against Argentina U21 6 seasons ago in the quarterfinals of the Copa America U20. I remember this match very well because we won 1-0. I would like to repeat this result on Saturday.

We left for Argentina with a fighting attitude. We'll be on the field in a few hours. This will be our last match and we want to surprise our fans and say goodbye with honor. I invite you to watch our match.

but we actually competed with the 4th rank team in all of sokker. We had a couple good chances to draw here. Great job, Norbert!

In our last match we lost against group leader Argentina U21 0:1. Our opponent had already secured promotion to the next phase, but he played with the strongest squad. It was a close match, we had 4 shots, our opponent had 5. We were not effective during this U21World Cup, we had 17 shots and scored only 1 goal. This was the main reason we lost. For us, the championship is over, but we have new goals this season. We will start the U21 Gold Cup soon. I really want to keep the 2nd pot at the end of the season, this will guarantee an easier WCQ group.
