unfortunately it is too far behind for the nt

Given continuous training up to age of 29, this can be a decent role player in Our rotation, not a top player we will have better, but still someone that can add value in case of cards, injuries or low form of other players.

13 11
13 18
17

thats where he should end up.

have we had this kind of player in form today, he would play against Moldova today.

unfortunately speed at that age is very slow, you waste a lot of training to bring it to incredible/splendid, and honestly at 29 he is no longer trainable, even with the new changes at that age he can take a step back, for various reasons I say that for me he is not a player for nt, but I could also be wrong, but that's what I think

Yes I understand that. Our midfield really needs a range of options. We will have much better players but Our pool of midfielders is quite narrow right now. Sometimes You just need a player that is capable to send those perfect through passes while opponents defense is in transition especially against defense that pushes up from deep.

At 29 You can still train playmaking and passing quite efficiently from what I understand.

I am currently training 28yo striker so I will know first hand how it plays out after next season.

you can't, it's almost pointless to train at this age, whatever skill you choose

I have a 27yo ATT with great talent, he has +9 in striker already and still haven't popped to magical [15]

once you turn 26+ it's basically 1-1.5 pops a season at high skills, your projection of how Lucas could end up as is too optimistic IMO

Wow. Is it because of the changes in training efficiency that were recently implemented?

Can you refer some current forum posts or topics where managers are exchanging their observations on training effectiveness of older players? Would love to stay current on this.

Congratulations on Your World Cup victory btw.

Came here to say this. Training starts dropping off at 26, and honestly a player should be wrapping up by end of 27.

You might get a single high level skill in all of age 28.

This was something I was unaware of when I decided to try to go with ML from the start. I thought I could train soft skills late and manage, but the efficiency hits at 26 are about 13%, and at 27 it goes to around 24%. My sample size is admittedly limited.

The end result has been that my midfield has always been subpar.

Edit: on mobile but I need to add more context for the training drop-off.

Those percentages are based on sokker asistente predictions for player development.

It is accurate through she 25.

yea i have been saying that for a while. training after 26 is starting to get slow. skills start dropping at 28 so it makes no sense to train a 28 yo player imo - it may happen you spend 10 weeks for a pop and then it drops or during those 10 weeks you get a drop or few.
Biner even at age 27 is starting to pop very slowly and he has great talent

I just had 30 yo striker pop in playmaking from general training so I don’t believe that skills start dropping at 28.

Thanks for congratulations, it was a fun tournament.

As for drops... they are extremely random and unpredictable. I've had players at 33-36 who over a course of 50+ weeks dropped once in one skill, while other skills dropped 3 or more times in the same time (all untrained). I also had situations with 2 drops week after week or even a double drop in 1 week (old player though).

At the same time, my 33-yo ATT popped from general training to [16] technique. Probably went down before transferring to me, got no "drops" from the lottery and received enough GT to get back to [16].

As for this part:

Hard to say, very possible that it turned up the impact of age on training a bit, but from what I remember training 27+ players was always terrible...

pace CAN start dropping at 28.
nothing else CAN start dropping until 30.

it doesn't mean they can't still get training, it just means there's a possibility of skill loss.

I am under the belief that the older a player gets, the more likely RNG works against you, but this may not be true.
