perhaps, but that's not saying much. I can all but guarantee you the buyer will lose money on that transaction.

There is always a lot of interest in 16-17 year old players. I also just bought a 16yo defender for over $1 million. Of course, I don't know his talent. I just wanted to show that you can make good money on such players by promoting them from the junior school.
Dragon, we shouldn't be guided by "potential", because it only assumes what skills a junior could leave school with if he had the talent. You never know how talented he is. You can only find out after a few weeks of your junior's stay at the junior school.

well, the whole problem with youth schools is how random it is. Let's go over the variables:
- age when the player comes out
- time of the season when he comes out (later in the season, worth less because less peak training time available)
- actual talent level
- how skilled he is when he finishes youth school
- last, but not least, skill distribution
That is a LOT of variables for the cost of 50-70k/week. Right now as a mid-tier A team I operate at a deficit of 85k a week before ticket sales.
These clubs that have been around for a decade literally just piss away money because they have so much of it and yet they are still sitting in the same league I'm in now - after 6 months. I've looked at these franchises in my league. It's comical how bad they still are.
Sure, Dragon hit the lottery. He's now got his youth school expenses paid ahead for the next 6-7 seasons. I personally can't afford to wait RNG seasons to "get lucky".
edit: something in youth schools needs to improve, or they are simply going to wait until I get roofing for my stadium first. I like the concept of raising my own youth but the variability and expense are non-starters for me.

Of course, I agree with everything you wrote. Junior school is a lottery, at the beginning it certainly does not make money, unless at the beginning of the season there is a 16yo. I've already resigned from the junior school twice, because I'm just not lucky, but I kept coming back, because it's fun and adrenaline during Saturday recruitment and Thursday skills distribution :)

Your last sentence is probably what keeps people coming back :)
I just wish it were better. I know it's tricky because you'd flood the market worth talent this way, and that's not what Raul and company want.
It's just easier to waste money when you've got years of it to waste, I guess.

I put him back on TL. Glad you are interested. Last thing I wanted was someone to buy, not train, and then sack them.
