Unfortunately, our 17-year-old generation is very weak.
Unfortunately, it's not like 18 years old.

We get new ones every week.
Must ensure talents are taken care of.
There is a lot of talent in lower divisions that have international potential and new managers are not aware of that.

Going on TL in 1-2 weeks. Good talent he just got out of youth school at 19 years old and is behind. I’ll need the training slot to test talent for 16 year olds. Anyone know how I include links to player pages?

I don't know his talent. He was in school for 5 weeks and had 1 pop. May have talent or may not. Decided to train Sams for longer who I know for sure has talent

Yeah I feel You.
Maybe in case like this, it could be worth it to at least find out talent. Have 4 older players skip 1 advanced training each( and get formation training) and after 4 weeks You could have a better picture.
Your older players won’t miss out much.

I just tested talent on Chase above by training passing (PM works well too). That took five weeks (4. whatever to 7, I'm fairly certain he started at 4.3 ish out of school. He's settled in the 3.7-3.8 talent range. I still may sell him soon. I've picked up another two trainees that I am as certain as I can be that they will be talented. One of my kids has to go, it'll either be Chase or the Ukrainian. I have to figure that out this week. Honestly, I should probably cut bait on both.
I would never test on pace, it's too slow and erratic early on since it is impossible to know the starting point out of school. It can usually be ballpark figured out after a few pops though. Tech is tricky also because of the cost of it, but it is not as bad as pace. It is midway between the cost of pace and passing/pm. What this means is, if you use sokker assiente, you can see exactly how many training points you spend to rank up a skill. That is the 'cost' I'm referring to.
As a real example, when Hodge came out of school with 5 pace, I trained pace (against better judgment, but he's a certain striker...whereas Armas is undecided mid or defense). He took THREE weeks to go from 5 to 6 (274 training points used). This is almost grounds for immediate selling but I decided to let it play out a couple more weeks. Went from 6 to 7 in 2. (edit: It turned out that Hodge came out of school essentially 5.0-5.1 pace so it explains the 3 week to 6 pop. He would have had to have elite talent to get in 2 weeks)
He's almost always been ahead of the curve in training points since, and his talent read as well over 4 for a long while but it settled down a good bit below 4 in the end. Not stellar but he will work out well enough solely due to earlier age and distribution.

Evan Adair 18 years old
poor [3] stamina unsatisfactory [2] keeper
poor [3] pace excellent [10] defender
average [5] technique tragic [0] playmaker
excellent [10] passing unsatisfactory [2] striker
Looked extremely promising through 16 weeks and was a 3.1 talent (confirmed by SKtables as potential to be special) until he started missing pops. SKtables seems to think he is now 4.9 talent (also confirmed). I think I'll try and test talent but he might end up on TL soon. I feel robbed of a super talent.
