Asunto: »[Junior]USA Youth Roll Call

2006-09-25 18:24:57
This guy came out of my YS last week. I'm going to be training pace for a little while, so I think I'm going to try to pop him in pace twice before selling him.

Sam Fulton, age: 17
value: 219 750 $, wage: 2 725 $
club: Saia`s Strikers, country: USA
solid form

hopeless stamina, excellent keeper
adequate pace, unsatisfactory defender
unsatisfactory technique, hopeless playmaker
unsatisfactory passing, unsatisfactory striker
2006-09-25 19:05:57
My point is he has no idea if the 16 year old is talented either.

And you can spend about 10k on a youth 16-17 who has MUCH higher skills than any weak junior player and is as likely to have talent.
2006-09-25 19:07:52
i do not really see this. show me 16 y old players with much better skills, that u can buy for less than 100k€.
2006-09-25 19:13:11
uhm, ok.

How about the 3rd one on the transfer list at this moment. First two are junk (but still better than the weak junior he listed).

Jaromir Lewicki , age: 16
value: 30 000 $, wage: 625 $
Current bid: 15 250 $
end of bidding: 2006-09-25 20:30
tragic stamina,
weak pace,
unsatisfactory technique,
average passing,
tragic keeper
unsatisfactory defender
adequate playmaker
weak striker

It'll probably rise somewhat in the last hour, but certainly not to 100k

not really better and still no info bout talent;-)

Give it up guys,

new teams should not and can't afford to keep youths that will come out "average".
2006-09-25 21:25:40
I don't take offense at all. I'm learning a lot from your discussion. Thanks for posting. I just got to a 30 (24 players) slot YS and I should do some cutting.

I just kept everyone 'Average' and over. I'll be more selective in the future.
2006-09-25 21:44:40
The goal is to predict where they'll come out. A weak guy with great talent 32 weeks out is a definite keeper (untill he sits in your squad without popping 6-7 weeks and you find out he's actually not talented). An adequate +3 really isn't.

Know what i mean?
2006-09-25 22:23:41
yeah,

assume 5 or 6 weeks per pop and if they won't reach "solid" when they come out, sack them.

Even "solid" is a gamble, I've had worthless solids before.
2006-09-25 23:09:42
so they will "pull" themselves after a while.
For example I have 2 youth players which are on a good level, after the next pop I might use them in my team????
2006-09-26 00:07:46
For me, less than "excellent" is worthless(except juniors with 4 week or better talent). I won't make money with "solid" juniors. You can get lucky, but it's a small chance and keeping them isn't profitable to me.
2006-09-26 04:39:31
I think you are right, because I can afford to take a chance with "solids" but for a new team with low sponsor money, small stadium, carrying 20 Juniors with half of them reaching solid at the end is too much of a gamble. I went for very good minimum at first then I dropped down to solid.
2006-09-26 05:37:13
VG is my cutoff, unless they'll be in my YS for less than 6-8 weeks or so.
