Asunto: [WC2010]USA-England
Group C is one of the most balanced. The England game should be very entertaining. Algeria should not be underestimated, they beat out Egypt to win. Slovenia should be cake.

We have an uncanny knack of being overhyped for these tournaments and you also have the ability to overperform your expected ability. You could win the group if the typical England turn up. However if we play as we can and have recently then we would I think be favourites.
Either way it was a great group for both teams, I assume top two go through as per usual?

aye. So barring both teams playing like absolute garbage or the other teams playing totally above and beyond what is expected of them, I think it will be England/USA/Slovenia/Algeria
I think so too, and would not rule out Goal Difference being the seperator between us.

England is on top of my favorite list for the WC. Not to jinx anything but i really like the English Team: if something is missing i think is a Shearer kind of Striker. (and of course the lack of a Keeper of International fame).
By the way the only WC you guys won was in England in 66, so by playing in one of the Commonwealth Countries, might be of Help..^_^

Maybe thats a nice thought, we are lacking a class striker imo like you said. I think Green could be world class if given the role. I think Spain are the team to beat imo.

Netherlands is still an dark horse that has a good chance if they can click on offense like they have the potential to do. If they beat one really good team I think they will get the confidence and make a deep run. Netherlands has always been a team to fail in the spot light when a big game goes into pks, but they don't get outclassed very often.
they didnt impress me against Scotland tbh - they play very wide and seem to struggle against a team that can nullfiy them down the wings.

no sorry i meant that wee lightening bolt who plays for spurs called....lennon and defoe - scary paring those two.
Lennon is quick but he is often inaccurate due to his pace.
