Asunto: Best player vs. SA

Somekind of topic, maybe cometer will open a thread to sum all results and open this kind of topic after each game. Then we can sum all votes of players and choose best Aussie gk/def/mid/att player of the season. Or maybe most popular? :)

Yeah was thinking of doing something like this but didn't really want to make it just because the poll feature is available. Haven't voted yet but I will do when I make a decision.

Hirons, Leijer and the Left side of the defence Cunico and Rex are my picks.

I'll single out Leijer though because he did a much better job than Wilkinson on his wing, that tactic gives this winger a lot of responsabilties and I thought Leijer did a good job justifying it.

I think I was tossing up between three players, for different reasons. Cunico was a rock in defense for the majority of the game, didn't do much wrong. Leijer used his skill to get in behind their defenders and set up our strikers for shots against the goalkeeper, but I thought lacked the final pass on a number of occasions. (Might also be because I've been use to Willis hitting heads frequently)
The other player that hasn't actually been mentioned was Terminello. Made some important last minute tackles in defense as well as contributing to offensive plays. In the end though I decided to vote for Cunico as from memory he prevented them getting shots in on more than one occasion and I couldn't fault him for his efforts this week.
