2008-02-04 10:02:12
I'm with you on that one :)
2008-02-04 10:23:24

I watched our game (first time I've done it since joining)....I felt my boys should have put the game to bed by half time....two misses from the edge of the six yard box....I had a bad feeling after not taking those chances.

second half a lot more even....the last 10 minutes really came to life.

might pay for me to watch more games, as it gave me more of an idea of what I might be missing in my squad....& some tightening of tactics with a couple of scenarios...gonna be tough again next season, no doubt.

yea, I realized that too, second half much more even and better from my team, could have have taken the win in that half, but I recall you missing 2 good chances in the second too. so good result for me in the end.

Also, do you get a higher sponsor bonus payout for finishing first? I would think so, but I'd like to be sure.

Ahh, the benefits of having a Qualification match (after a losing streak)!

Morale straight back up to madly in love (from satisfied), will give me a boost start next season, so I might as well expand my stadium a little more.

I can't believe you don't want matches. They're the absolute key to seeing how your players actually perform and how good your tactic is. When you watch your games every week you soon learn that the default tactics are pretty terrible and a few tweaks here and there can make a huge difference. if any team wishes to progress, they're gonna have it a hell of alot easier if they watch their games.

Couldn't agree more with those sentiments.

I created a team that got me to the A-League and then demoted straight away. What I soon realised that all I had done was put eleven good players on the pitch and wasn't embracing the tactical side of sokker - which is just as important as anything else.

Watch games. Look for weaknesses in your team that you can strengthen. Look for weaknesses in your opponent that you can exploit and you will beat teams that have a more expensive eleven on the field.

Depends. Can actually work out you end up with less if you then lose your qualification match. A lot depends on league difficulty, and also supporter/sponsor mood. That takes a dive so does your sponsor money.
2008-02-06 07:19:38
ok,

sponsor mood? is this just the supporters mood?
2008-02-06 07:21:57
yes.
2008-02-06 20:55:11
Yeah, I've basically gone with tactics going by what has been said in forums & my ratings compared to the opposition....but after watching my quali' I realised a bit of tightening on the last line of defence might help...plus a quality finisher....& some improved tech' in order to keep & win the ball in 'one on ones'.
Aside from that, I was satisfied with general play....but yes, need to watch more games....might have to give up my time with Hattrick...it sucks compared to this game.
2008-02-07 01:05:07
Yep tightening of the defence is the most noticable (perhaps the most important too). It's fairly obvious after watching a few games that the default positions of the side backs (who sort of play as wing backs) are simply too vulnerable.

Anyway it's about time you realised Sokker was much better than Hattrick :P
