well let's just say it was the only exception to the rule :)

I've never really understood the whole "rules is rules" obsession. I'm more a common sense prevails person myself.
And just to let the cat amongst the pigeons... there was actually no rule stating that tips entered after the scheduled start time of the round would be excluded. [;)]
[lol]
I should actually look to see which games I got right. [:p]

no rules stating...except...the common sense prevails.
I love it how everyone has something to say over something that noone really cares about haha.
I guess it has become that time in the week, the longest time until the next interesting game

Yeah. I'm always the most active on a sunday night, particularly after a win.
Wow, I do consider that harsh. Not only because I had not seen any of the games (infact none had yet started), but also because it's not in the spirit of a friendly tipping comp with no prize and therefore no incentive to cheat (although we've already established it wasn't possible to gain an advantage from being 2mins late).
Although I don't really care about the points - you guys could use the head start ;) - it's not a very inclusive policy which is what this comp is all about.
No biggie. Roll on Rd2.
Sorry you find it harsh. I looked at it in the way that if I let you tip 2mins late do I then let someone tip 4mins late next week? I had to draw a line. And the line is that when matches start no more tips are taken.
You'll catch up ;)

That rule is in the first post of this thread.

Matches hadn't started. ;)
I'd count the tips of someone who was 4 mins late. The idea is to stop people from cheating, right? If someone cheated, I'd ban them from the competition. But if someone had obviously not cheated, I'd count their tips. No point having a rule which excludes legit tips.
As I've said, it's not about my points, it's more my protest against the misuse of rules in society. [:P]

Matches had been underway for 2 minutes.
Long enough for FCM Tigers and TBF to have both scored an opening goal that at least in theory you could have viewed.
I don't think anyone is questioning your integrity vivski, but agbell is running it and he had stated the rules for the comp. Your position about it being a friendly prize-less tipping comp is valid, but so is agbell's and he's running the show.
Regardless, everyone seems unanimous in that it doesn't matter much. (Which makes it quite amusing that its the hottest topic on the board.)

I'm not against rules, I believe rules should better fit the goals/intentions.
But I get the feeling you're not interested, so I'll drop it.

Least we've got some activity happening with all these posts. Sign on and find 56 unread posts and I haven't been offline for any more than usual ;).
How better could the rules fit the the 'goals/intentions'?
The rules were stated.
There was many days to post your tips before matches were played.
As stated above this isn't anyone questioning your integrity. This is simply me observing the rules I stated which ensures fairness of a competition, If I make an allowance for you, I then open myself up for others asking for an allowance.
I sense you're making your point for the sake of a lighthearted argument. But simply your argument holds as much water as a Sahara dam. Call me Mugabe but I am dictating the rules this time ;)
