I'm looking forward to the game. I haven't seen much of Frogs, but you're obviously a quality team pushing the bubble of div2. Many times the bride's maid...
Good luck to both teams.

The Frogs have been strong in the back half of the field for a long time. The addition of Drapala up front has made a huge difference to their attack.
I'd still have FCM as the favourites though. An imposing frontline and a much improved defense and midfield over the last season and a bit.

final tonight. Well both sides have progressed further than I expected them to. Frogmeisters have overcome Tribe, Roar and Achmids to reach this stage and have shown that a division 2 side can make the final. Sure they've had some luck but to make it this far that's what you genuinely need to have.
Not to be underestimated, they have the ability to restrict the number of chances an opposition gets and produce something out of nothing at the other end to take the lead and go on and win the game.
Expect something similar again tonight.
FCM on the other hand, had an under-par season last season and I think few expected them to bounce back as well as they have, sitting 3rd in the A League and reaching the final here. This came about after a highly entertaining semi final against TBF which ended 6-2. Their strikers are one of the most dangerous in Australia when on song and can tear defenses apart quite quickly. Their defense and midfield seems to have improved considerably over the past 2-3 seasons and will certainly put up a good show, with their usual 4-3-3 formation.
No guessing which side is going to dominate the ball in half imo, but the scoreline could be anyone's ball game. With Kearton out, that helps Frogmeisters a little bit, but still not going to be easy.
Both teams will need to be accurate as I don't think they'll get too many shots, probably around 8 shots each.
I think there is no question FCM should be favourites but Frogmeisters have never been this far before and after knocking 3 A League sides out in a row could easily make it a 4th and a maiden cup win.
I think the game will be close but I think FCM just has too much firepower up front for them to lose this one and will claim their 2nd Australia Cup. I'm tipping 3 - 2 to FCM at extra time.

Def watching this, should be interesting to see what TM comes up with!
and that's why I don't bet on sporting events.
Couldn't say I expected a tactic change from FCM, but it was well put together. They looked a lot more threatening as well and Storey and Richter had far too much pace for Frogmeisters.
Frogmeisters just couldn't get enough of the ball in the right areas to cause too much problems for FCM on this occasion.
Congrats to tigerTUFF for the Australia Cup win. Thoroughly deserved, was incredibly surprised at the tactic change.

Was a big mistake by the froggies to only have 3 at the back, especially considering the level of striker, and the fact they let the winger have free potential reign. Was shocked to see the first goal go to FCM as it was really against the direction of play and (i thought) pretty cheap. But the huge difference in skillsets really showed today. Plus i really liked the deep defender tactic that FCM employed. Grats on the cup win!
Wasn't expecting the change. Thats why i played the 3 Men in defense. Congrats to FCM, Well deserved. Now to focus on getting into the A-League.
Simply couldnt get the ball up to my strikers today

On further investigation, I probably should have seen that actually, they used it against TBF in the league match ;).
well that went better than i expected :)
Badluck to the froggies, was a bit worried about this game as they absolutly towelled me up last time we met. All the best on getting to the A-league next season.
Correct cometer, tried this tactic against TBF on the weekend and liked the way it played to our strengths so went with it again.
I've been in auto pilot for a while as I dont have net access at home and havent for a while but had fun putting together a different tactic, so might start playing around with formations as the A-league is all over anyhow.

well done Tiger!
Well done Frogs for going this far!

FCM's strikers are just so brutal on fumbles.
I must admit I didn't like the tactic from FCM. Essentially giving away all the goal kicks, a number of their headers early went backwards because no strikers were in range and simply too many defenders really (Those feelings won't be any surprise for Tribe fans). Despite all of that though, it gave their strikers every opportunity to use their brilliance and they simply kept lofting dangerous balls into the box capitalising on any poor clearances.
Still can't argue with results can you? Congrats to the Tige's, Commiserations to the Frogs.
