I was pretty sure the bottom half of each round of the cup gets randomly assigned against the top half.

Took us a while to get going against Johan's men, by which time half of my team started looking at the bench as they wanted a breather.

O'Neil finally shot himself into some form and looked better and better as the game went on. (Having good stamina when everyone else doesn't will do that)

22 shots to 7 for 6-nil. Probably should have conceded a goal, but new kid Tantos will take the clean sheet in his debut for the club.

Hmm, you're probably right, but coincidentally, I was the 27th team from the top, while murter was the 27th team from the bottom.

bah, lost 3-0 :( expected though, but whats even worse was my best striker got injured in the league match before this cup match and he's out for 21 more days :(

You can't have that happen so keep dreaming, you're both in the bottom half of the draw :p.

doesn't work like that. Everyone gets ranked based on finishing position last season. They then keep this order, so if the #1 seed gets knocked out by the weakest side, the weakest side remains the weakest side and the #2 seed becomes the highest left in the cup (assuming they win).

That's my understanding as well.

So that makes Cumlionibus the last team in the top half and Shore Chillz the highest ranked team to be playing at home next week.

Hmm, that's dodgy. So it's not actually like a proper 'cup' draw with proper seedings.

In each round the teams will be allocated into two baskets according to their seeding based on their previous year's league position, with the 1st basket containing the "strongest" 50% of teams, and the 2nd containing the "weakest" 50%. Once this is done, the pairings will then be random - i.e. any team from the 1st basket could play any team from the 2nd basket.

That's the rules so it's not that straightforward... it's a proper draw unless the rules havent been applied...

I'm with Tong, its not a "proper" knockout style tournament with seedings. (Like a tennis tournament for example, or the March Madness in the US college basketball)
