Yeah having him suspended as a result has got to be a bit annoying, especially given how good he is.

As for your idea of one more level then technique that sounds fine to me.

Full marks to the Frogs. I was never going to get enough out of my reserve midfield to get past all their defending. I probably stuffed up my formation a bit in that my guys simply didn't have the pace, nor stamina to try and do the sort of coverage that I asked them to do. Was never going to change the result though. Some fine strikes, particularly from Dytko.

It's always amusing watching your cup match when you're a defense trainer, and this one was the most entertaining I have seen. Plenty of chances, and a 87th min goal to win the match.

However it was, soured by another looooong-term injury to a significant player. Bah!!

4th season in a row I get knocked out in round 5 and 3rd season in a row the first time I concede a goal I lose.

Not really much to say, pretty close game for the most part. They capitalized on a defensive fumble and then managed to score off the post off the keeper just over the line.

At the other end we just didn't perform well, missed a few golden chances that should have been taken but were butchered including one where only a tap in was required since the keeper was still recovering from the previous shot and we missed it wide.

Not too disappointed though, apart from the fact it's just destroyed my supporter mood and I'll be lucky to get a 50% crowd attendance for a home game for the rest of the season now. Would have been nice to get through to the next round but I've already won the cup in the past so I was more focussed on training players.

Might be a silly question, but as I have never considered it... what's the benefit of winning the cup (apart from tidy supporter mood)?

added to the bonus of extra gate receipts leading to the final and a non-decrease in supporter mood at any point.

i certainly don't think the loss in the cup will destroy your supporter mood for the rest of the season but if you keep losing in the league that may do it.

Anyway mate, it sucks you are out in that round again, i know you wanna break that streak.

well when it's believe in your club, it takes a bit to recover that. Won't be a 1 win up one level thing, been here before, takes a lot of wins to push it up, I'd be guessing it's going to take me at least until round 8 or 9 to get it back to madly in love, but it will come back up eventually, it just annoys me now that friendlies are 9:30pm and they've virtually pointless now except for training. Wish they were earlier, as I probably won't watch too many of them until the next day as a result.

Haha yeah, the problem is when determining fan mood effect they don't consider the fact that one side is playing a reduced side to train others and the other is going full strength. Makes losses hurt. So does having Blute suspended for the game on Sunday, given Augerinos and Necevski are out for the match.

I still had 5 teams out of 5 from my cup's tipping previous to this round...
I'm left with TBF, Roar and Chelsea... not bad at all...
The cup has always some surprises in the bag (I've been a victim of it...) so who knows what's left in it...

haha the State cup could also do the opposite just as easily if sides sacrifice training to win as I'll be playing even more 2nd string then what I did today ;).

well in that case I don't care... Queensland's gonna benefit from it :)

Roar are planning on doing the same thing as The_Comets to be honest :P
