Asunto: State Cup Round 1 - Week 8

2008-04-09 10:24:09
1 hour away for a little piece of history. Certainly a round I'd like to win. I think we (ACT) have a strong chance of knocking off the favourites in QLD but a lot depends on the results of

Frogs v Roar and
Bushrangers v Minkees

Either side wins both of those I think they'll win the round.

Hoping to contribute to the team, haven't conceded a goal in friendlies this season except against the Bears where I went down 1 - 0 so I'm hoping to keep that up.

0-1 win for me but 2 major injuries (angry face) hopefully i can pull through

So wins to both ACT and NSW and losses to QLD and WA. Both results looked to be 3 - 2, so they were rather close. Can't believe it took me until the 83rd minute to score though, was hammering the goals, had total territorial domination but couldn't get past their goalkeeper. Was relieved when I scored.

Great to see Chelsea knock off Krayzees and Bushrangers to defeat Minkees. :).

Shocked and appalled. We were +6 as well on goals haha.

Really looking forward to this competition actually. Considering I'm only training midfielders I play a very good defence and a fast striker (usually my defender). The people training pace are going to drag down their states though haha.

damn man, i rather lose 1-0 than have 2 injuries....

were you playing your first team? or do my juniors really suck :P

Surely trouto should get a point for the walk-over, no? Doesn't affect the overall result, but IMO it should be 3-2. In future ia walk-over may decide a round.

agreed here, i assumed a walkover is as good as a rubber, could even denote walkovers as automatic 3 - 0 wins.
2008-04-09 23:31:34
yea that was my 1st grade squad i was gettin angry at the amount of 1 on 1's that ur goalie saved
2008-04-10 00:09:45
I put the Trouto's game as a draw to start with...
I was sure it was gonna raise some voices and was happy to discuss this...
I'm happy to put it down as a walk-over if everybody agrees, I just thought it wasnt the fault of the others NSW teams...

so far it's two to zero in favour of the 3-0 walk-over...

I'm surprised how seriouously some of us take this comp.. :)

note: anyone got a better idea than a excel copy/paste for the standing? I was thinking using a screenshot/imageshack...
2008-04-10 03:30:03
lol, no wonder he got such a high rating... and his keeping skill is only good! :P

@minkee
yes! make it 3-0 or something :P:P
2008-04-10 08:43:19
im happy to have it set as a walk over but i dont think nsw should lose any points cause it wasnt really our fault
2008-04-10 10:22:43
no way should you put my game as a draw, the opponent didnt turn up, its a 5-0 win to me...not to mention i missed out on training waiting for him to turn up
2008-04-10 10:36:06
Count it as one win, to be honest. A team walkover just seems excessive.
