Killer instinct as usual from those Tribe boys :)

Hirons gives something a little different up front. I don't think he's nearly a match for Amien/Hrehoresin/Newhill etc but he does give us a different look. Nice to have as an option to test out the defense in a different way.

Yes, Hirons and Croxall always add something new to the game.

He made it more lively as Amien and Hrehoresin couldn't get through any of NZ defs. He has done it a couple of times :).

New generation of forwards is coming ;)

If you're not happy, let's play another friendly soon. If you dare ;)

I already have fixtures with Bulgaria and Israel :(

Though if I'll still be NT coach, then why not in next season...

hehe okay I was only joking about. I'm not doing nt coach next season.

You still have 2 games to play, before the end of new elections ;)

Maybe NZ and Australia will get drawn into the same group for the qualifiers.
2007-03-03 11:47:32
that would be lovely. At least it would be another easy team to beat =P
2007-03-03 11:48:17
You'd only ever beat Australia if Howarth wasn't playing, but the only way NZ can stop Australia is if Watts plays ;).

It was a pretty decent game to watch. I think NZ defended far too narrow. And I think Australia lost the game in the tactic, defending throw-ins and corners deep in defence. There is no point standing 4 players on the sideline defending a corner/throw. And those midfielders are then out of position when it comes time to break. Other than that, the tactic looked quite good.

Generally I made it like that not to loose a goal from airborne pass after throw in cause I knew that NZ won't have many situations from normal game, and our defs have tendency to kick the ball out from field from time to time. Then Zdrilic was going lower and he was getting the pass.

In current engine there's a high pass already after the throw in, from first ball - so players must tackle the ball at once, as fast as possible.

That's all well and good, but you can't deny that it cost us a goal and could have cost us more.
2007-03-04 01:36:36
That's true. But generally I think the tactic was quite good, when forgetting about that one square.

I've checked now, that NZ in 3 WC games[I'm skipping the one against Poland] made 6 shots[Deutschland and Peru] and 12 shots[Hrvatska].

I think that's a good sign for Australia.

It is :) I thought your tactic was magnificent borkos. I really did =) I liked the positioning of you players at the throw ins and stuff. That was class. Congrats on a well made tactic. ^^

Have you checked the game, or just stats? :)

@bbalmaster2
Thanks for nice words, I was satisfied with this one.
