Well done cometer, the tactic covered them nicely and we found plenty of space in attack as well.
One comment I have is that Hirons and Byers were having to fetch too many balls due to the AMs being set too far back. That probably cost us a few chances.

Got to love 2 goals in the last 10minutes to win though ;).

Yeah the midfielder's were set back deliberately this week in case they played their other tactic with the 2 DM's. The manager has only ever played with the tactic today and the tactic from last week, referring to general style of play, so that's why they were further back then they perhaps otherwise would have been.

I agree that it probably would have supplied us a few more shots though, but at the time I was trying to guard against their other tactic they use.

Felt good to record a win against a nation higher ranked then ourselves and hopefully we're able to easily win our next qualification match next week.

Good choice to leave Dreger home, he's weak in this form. :)

Ed: Last time oru game against Hellas ended with 10:0 victory[highest win of Australia I suppose?] so don't worry :)

As a bit of an enhancement, is there any chance you would be able to make a list of the top strikers, mids, defenders and keepers.

Ive seen that in france they have certain "formulas" that give them the best, but at the top you could write something like, these are the top players according to the formula but depending on what you want the player to do, you may not pick the best (especially with mids which you may wanna separate into AM,M,DM)

I know its a whole lot more work, but it would make the NT that bit more interesting

cheers. I had a toss up with choosing the best option for the reserve bench and I ended up selecting Storey which turned out to be a great choice in the end :).

I'll look into it. One of the hardest things with doing that though is everyone has a different idea of what's best for certain positions, but I'll take a look and see what I can come up with.

Sokker Organiser (SO) lets you view a list of players and grade them in terms of AM M DM etc. Have you used that? I'm not sure how it works for NT coach, but I have submitted players for NT through SO.
You may have to get managers to send you their players in XML format so you can manually import them into SO. Again, a lot of work, but it would be a way to maintain your list.

Btw, do you have a free term at 23.06 or 7.07 for youngsters game?

hmm, I already use Sokker manager for myself and Sokker Viewer as an alternative for those who wish to send player skills that way instead of skmail so I don't know whether I'll go chasing sokker organiser at this stage, unless a large number of australian users use it and aren't willing to send updates via either of the other two methods.

yeah, you were in an unfortunate situation as a lot of the national teams already have scheduled their matches. Good luck with finding some friendlies and in qualifying.

I wouldn't expect you to rush out and get SO. SV separates into AM, & DM doesn't it?

Not for the national team stuff it doesn't from what I've seen. Not sure about individual team info though.

Big interest here is that Hellas have only ever recorded 1 win in qualifying matches, that coming against Malta. They've never scored against us from 1 encounter which was a bit of a high scoring match. A lot has changed since then, and I'm certainly hoping we dominate them and walk away with the 3 points to keep ahead of Ireland in the race for qualification.

Only injury concern was with Newhill and so we have a full squad available for the match as well.

I look forward to watching the match and we'll see what happens.

I'm certainly hoping we perform better than Ireland did. That's my first aim, and then whatever extra we get from there will be great. We just need Norge to do us a favour and beat Ireland.
