I don't think either Baveas or Croxall could believe they had the ball in the box.

Was surprised to see Croxall in to be honest. I don't think he's really got the Tech to be holding the ball up front waiting for the midfield to come up in support. (Arguably I guess no Australians do, so its nice to know that he's vying for a spot when he's in form)

The idea wasn't exactly for him to hold the ball up. I rather wanted to use the pace to be able to beat the defenders to the ball to have a shot against the keeper whilst trying to reduce the chances they got. Was also why I brought him on when I hoped the Lithuanian defenders were tired. Didn't really work as they sliced up our defense anyway.

Haha, you suggesting we took the posts out at half time and swapped them to the other end just so that you had a narrower goal to aim at. If that's the case you only have your ground staff to blame since you were playing at home, otherwise we had 45 minutes aiming at each goal post :p. Stop looking for excuses about the inability of your strikers to finish :p.

Fairly insane how they can dribble our best defs with ease though.

My second match as an NT manager (Canada - 4 seasons ago) was a friendly against Lithuania. I couldn't believe how they blew through the defense - pretty much unstoppable. Best defender on the roster took a red card. It was a disaster (6-1). Couldn't help wondering "What have I gotten myself into?".

It doesn't take much to realize average marks account for squat really. A player with lower rating can be significantly better than a player with a higher rating.

I'd imagine quite a lot of sides do :). Never easy to contain Lietuva, especially when we had our best goalkeeper out.
