Why would you shame him by comparing him to Beckham?
Can't think of anybody from rl who pass as well as Willis, that's why :P
Yeah, I know it turned out bad hehe, I don't need the link, although that's still helpful, but I was quite aware when watching the match of that hole :).
I also stated it was bad several times ;).
But yeah I don't have any problems with you pinpointing weaknesses, especially if it's something I missed from my review of the game, although this was pretty hard to miss and I definitely noticed it.

Dunno if this was in the review, but Byers' skills really dont suit that of a Def striker.

With Willis's passing, normally he can be a fraction off, so by having 3 in a clump and 1 behind for the overkick, the aim is for him to aim in the middle of all 3. Thus when he is slightly off, it has a good chance of falling to one of my strikers, setting up for the header.
Who knows ask Barhilo, almost seemed like he saw someone he knew and wanted to show off his technical skills.

Yeah I'll take a look at that, although it was placed like that for the long range strikes which Byers is pretty good at, and his defending ability. He played well like that against Colombia, but was closed down far too quickly yesterday. I think he was also meant to run the furthest when we got towards a corner so that he could easily beat his man for a possible header, although don't know if it ended up as such.
Will go and analyze that a lot closer.

yeah he is really keen at those long shotties but i think his def would be more useful when closer to the defs
about the running, depends who is closest to the ball =/
about the running, depends who is closest to the ball =/
For the running I was implying when Willis has the ball on the wing Byers runs further forward then the other 2 strikers, so he drops off the 1 defender trying to chase him, that was the plan anyway, but yeah probably was pretty limited yesterday. I'm sure he'll bounce back against Honduras next week though ;).
Just noticed we actually ended up gaining ranking points, when I thought we would have lost a few. Wasn't much though, think it was around 0.1 of a point, but it's still better than going backwards 5 or 6 points.
ok just letting everyone know that minimum requirements and age rankings will be done/updated by Monday at the latest (unless exceptional circumstances arise).
Few things crept up, wasn't anticipating, hoping to get these done tonight, I'm pretty close to having them done.

*Pretty close to final stage - might be a few slight adjustments to reqs, but not many*
Australian NT Minimum Requirements
These should be used more so as a guide then a rule. These do not guarantee they'll represent the NT but this does mean that I want to hear updates of their progress regularly.
Players that do not follow all requirements but are reasonably close I also want to hear from you, especially if they are U21. Note also that if you are higher in some skills listed here but lower in another, you can still send the skills across as there is some flexibility allowed. A classic example is having a striker with very good striking but high pace and technique, say brilliant+.
Just a final message to say that for U19's should pass at least 1 of the following criteria below:
*Junior came out of school excellent+
*Junior came out of school with a talent under 5
*Junior came out of school at either 16 or 17
Any questions about particular players eligibility should be sent to myself (Cometer) and I'll get back in touch with an answer as soon as possible.

Looks like that's done and dusted for the time being. As stated there, players don't have to precisely follow that, but that's a pretty rough guide of where we should be looking to be before they start to get into that "strong chance" bracket.
U21's are going to be highly dependable on what youth pulls we get, so if we don't have sufficient players to cover those specs, then it will be nearest to it gets the go ahead. Pretty obvious really but since I've got that label I may as well stick to it :p.
I think for future tracking, it's important to realize U19's will unlikely meet the U21 reqs until they get closer to 21, and that was why I added the paragraph above for U19's so I can still find out any talented stuff, and try and give people and idea of what it takes to be a potential NT player.
Any comments feel free to post, especially whether this is the kind of thing you wanted to see or whether there was something else you actually wanted.
When I get closer to finishing the fixture list, I'll add both fixtures and the reqs to the NT press page.

I'd propose checking TL each day with searching only Aussie players, then no talent will be lost :)

yeah I do, but there's always some that slip through the unnoticed column :p. Mainly as they don't look all that great, but then trained for 6 seasons and then they appear so much better.
I go through TL,youth thread when I'm going through things. I did a massive search towards the end of last season, sent out around 200 sk mails between Achmid and myself, ended up getting most of them back. Some were interesting, a lot were good club players but not much more.

Thanks Com... I think it's a bit more "readable" than the age rankings.
Interesting to see you're interested in junior with talent below 5... that should give you some work as there are plenty around I would think...
