Well that's perfect.... Not a great world cup qualifying group, we managed to pick up potentially the best 4th seed which really should have been a 3rd seed except for the addition of 2 new NT's which bumped Uruguay back to 4th. We always get the shotty draw. On the other hand I suppose Brazil and Croatia might be beatable, we'll see. Not feeling as confident as I was before, but we're still in with a chance as it's an easier draw then we had last time but we're also a 3rd seed whereas last time we were 4th seeds.


The group though is:

1) Hrvatska
2) Brasil
3) Australia
4) Uruguay
5) Indonesia
6) Andorra

I wouldn't count on beating Brasil, but Hrvatska - yes why not.

I wouldn't count on beating either personally, but it's better than Poland and Mexico :p.

This should be a good tester for us tonight against Ceska Republika. Expecting their wingers to cause us some real damage but we'll see. They have a habit of continually mixing it up, so it makes it hard to anticipate what they're going to do, although usually they've built tactics on what the opposition played the previous week, so going by that, I'd be expecting a back 4 with 2 defensive mids and 1 winger. Whether or not that's what they're going to play is another thing, we're going to be under the pump most of the game I feel.

Ceska Republika are 7 places ahead of us on the ranking system and is our first extremely challenging game and potentially the first game this season we've actually not gone out as favourites to win in my opinion. As a result of having no influence on the seedings for the world cup qualification system, this is a game I'm just trying to test where we stand in relation to the other stronger NT's for useful insight ahead of the qualification campaign which is going to be vital.

A win here would be nice but realistically I think we're going to be in for a tough game.

Pretty happy with that result, for a while I was wondering if that was their 1st XI or not. I still am wondering because we totally buried them and by half time the match was basically over. Good for ranking points though :p.
