I was just looking back to the first NT game we had, thinking it would be great to see our first representatives play again against a weak team or another NT willing to do the same.

Anyway I'll post what the lineup would be, and there are definitely some great and memorable names in there such as amien, ozbey newhill and choony, and even current members of our NT side (Ando and Broxton)

Anyway this is what the lineup would be (given that many of the players have now retired)

1. Brendan Ando GK
2. Andrew Seaman DEF
3. Vaughan Petkovic DEF
4. Greg Murphy MID
5. Wesley Broxton DEF
6. John Ozbey MID
7. Brett Choony MID
8. Brett Parkinson MID
9. Noah Baveas MID
10. Stan Amien ATT
11. William Newhill ATT

12. Goran Necevski GK
13. Andy Coyne DEF
14. Louis Hudap MID
15. Vince Veart MID
16. Royce Brosque ATT

Proposed it a season ago :) would be great fun. Greg Murphy...ahh he got so wasted :(

btw...Seaman wasn't a striker and Petkovic a mid? At least I remember so...:P

I'm just going by the orders they first had, there were definitely some interesting orders and tactics :)

BTW borkos, by having "Seaman wasn't..." you are saying he was not a striker.

If you say "wasn't Seaman..." than you are asking was he not a striker (although literally it says was not a striker...stupid english), or in the way I'm sure that you mean, you are proposing that he was actually a striker, so just swap the name and wasn't around and you are set :)

Still..I'd go with Legends game, not 1st game of NT :)
2008-08-04 21:42:40
yeah that's the other idea, instead of playing the first NT game, we could play those who have the most NT caps, or all players who have had an influentual part in the NT team (although this would be hard to judge as very few managers were around when NT first started...even I wasn't and can only go as far back as the campaign or you and sriz)

There was nothing really going on before Sriram and me as an assistant. Nothing on forum, no tactics etc. I guess almost no one was interested at these days?

that could be quite true, I wasn't int he Sokker world :P

although when you are bored it is interesting to read back at the first threads of Sokker Australia.

You might find me a psycho but I really like to read this NT topic of Australia from the beginning and 'feel' those old games again...the winning 0:0 draw with Eesti after Eesti users bousting about their NT and predicting a harsh loss for Australia ;)

As well as I like to read Eesti topic of my 'rulling' and Polish topic ;)

Haha, well I'm just procrastinating by reading all the old topics in Aus, it's funny to see all the newbie questions from such experienced managers (now).

There was also a funny comment about the black flashes when they first started, which I will link too when I get back later on today

Ohh yeah dont mention Baveas. =-P

Early on Petkovic was a better defender than mid. I just trained him into a mid.

Collina was an unfortunate case. Could well have had more caps had the manager not gone bot without selling him off first. Had kept him in the NT in case he dropped to the bottom division and got replaced but still hasn't happened. Widera is another come to think of it.

Zdrilic just got unlucky, that his major specialized spot got taken by a freak.

Interesting list there though. Looks like we'd be playing a 4-4-2 or a 3-5-2 if we went with that, probably even a back 3 2 dm's 2 central midfielders and 1 winger.
