Certainly wasn't an easy game to win that one. Our players had to work pretty hard to get the result. We'll drop a few ranking points though I expect since we didn't beat them by enough goals, but that wasn't the aim of this match. Bring on the Mini World Cup :).

Apologies for Foxe, I guess tragic is not the best of form but thanks for fielding him anyway! I hope it has a positive effect for him this week...

He wasn't the only one, who wasn't up with Albania's team so don't feel you need to apologize. The idea wasn't to smack the team (although would be nice) but rather give some managers a chance to get a player they want into the NT. I managed to give everyone their 1st choice I think as well, or at worst their 2nd choice.

End of the day it was a bit of fun ahead of some serious stuff coming in the next month or so :).

it did help climbing one spot on the ladder too :)

Can't say I'm really all that surprised to win all 13 votes, there really wasn't a lot of opposition to select from ;).

We'll be entering the MWC again this time, so I'm hoping we get a decent draw. That starts week 3, so I'll have to arrange a game this week and will do so in the next day or two.

U21WC after MWC?

Most likely not, never really believed in getting slaughtered when ranking points are critical this season to maintain a good seeding for next season's qualification campaign. I'm not trying to sound harsh but our U21's just aren't up to that standard.

In other news, we're taking on the Netherlands this week as a warm up for the mini world cup and I guess for the world cup for them ;).

Haven't played them for quite some time so it should give us an idea of where we really sit in the scheme of things. We've been able to pick off points here and there last season against Brazil and Croatia, we beat New Zealand where all 3 sides qualified for the world cup. Now we take on yet another qualifier probably even harder than Brazil was.

Will give us a strong work out before we take to the mini world cup.

Might also add, as soon as I have a complete fixture list I'll update that on the NT page.

Mini World Cup Draw has been run. We've got an interesting draw, won't be a walkover of a group, we'll have to actually come out and win a few of these games.

The group we have is:

Australia
Venezuela
Singapore
Israel

Israel and Venezuela shouldn't be underestimated, both are quite worthy opposition and will certainly give us a run. I think we'll be taking on Israel first but we'll wait and see what happens.

In related news, we once again got given one of the death groups as far as the most difficult. Think only group F with Norway,Wales,Slovenia and India could be arguably harder.
