Appears a 15th group has been added for WCQ thus top 30 will make the top 2 seeds. With so few games left before the draw is made, we're safe for a top 30 spot, thus we will be a 2nd seed for the next WCQ campaign. Bags drawing Luxembourg,Cuba or Iran as a 3rd seed please :).

I'm tipping Australia vs Italy in the quarter final. :P

Lineup set as best as possible for the match. Haven't had any word from jkhtong1 about the players selected, so decided to use tongs goalkeeper Webber and as their 2nd choice selected Prentice from CL for coming runner up in the State Cup. That was my random logic plus we needed a defender spare.

At this stage it can change if jkhtong1 logs on and chooses the 2 they want to play. Either way Prentice would have been my own pick to reward CL for doing well in the State Cup and Blute will drop out all together.

Since it's just a competition side, I'll post the lineup an hour out from the game:

Currently got Hewitt coming on for Turnbull and Harvey coming on for Hirons.

Went with Rudnicki for FK's and gave Ellem the PK's, since Rudnicki is the highest finishing MID who's going to be on the entire game, and Ellem was the highest position in the competition for ATT.

Going to be tough against Malaysia U23's which is largely their 1st squad, hopefully it's an entertaining game for all.

For those wondering it's not Hirons from Tribe but another Hirons from Achmid's.

Well we got cleaned up in the end. I stuffed up the orders a bit too, Rudnicki was meant to play where Turnbull did and vice versa, hence Rudnicki got subbed rather than Turnbull. Apologies for that mixup.

Anyway, with the late timing on getting players in, was still collecting them about an hour ago, I wasn't really able to come up with anything new tactic wise, so ended up selecting the tactic that fitted best given the players we had at our disposal. Didn't work too well as a number of our players died badly quickly in both pace and stamina.

That's part and parcel of being a competition side. Makes it hard when over 75% of the U23 Malaysian side is in their 1st XI but despite that we coughed up too many chances. We had 8 chances on their 10, so we still should have been able to win. Their keeper is top rate though and Ellem was never going to put enough past him.

We'll drop about 70-80 ranking points but that's life. WCQ should be drawn next week I think, so we'll still make the top 30. Doubt we'll make top 28 after this which is a shame but the aim wasn't to gain ranking points otherwise there wouldn't have been a competition match ;).

Probably, although I think even he'll realize we had a pretty weak team out there :p. Just in case I'll throw the first shot :p. Whenever you have a Frog midfielder out on the field you know there's problems ;). Who knows, may have saved him his Malaysian job or boosted his chances of our U21 job if he's interested in the switch back.

I see the ME hasn't changed at all. Their first goal was a magical 50 metre through ball played first touch by a defender. I wish there was more passing.
