Are you suggesting that I'm lying?

:p
2009-01-16 12:33:43
no I'm not suggesting that you're lying. You're telling the truth that you want Willis to rest twice so that if you win elections in Belgie you don't have to face him :p.
2009-01-16 12:56:54
You're accusing me of such a bad thing...

...well, you're right! ;)

We're set for the match against Egypt in just over 1hr 30min. Resting a fair quantity of players so it's not a true 2nd XI (meaning those who would be 2nd XI but often play 1st XI due to form/injuries) but still a 2nd XI excluding the sub players of the 1st XI. So for example Kohler/Kilkelly who I'd consider self pick 2nd XI players are not playing because they may be needed for 1st XI duty next week.

I'll post the lineup a little later on, although I feel it's a strong team out on the field.

The lineup is as follows (although not actually in that order because I switched a few around)

Ferris
Langdon
Burns
Spencer
Wood
Bourke
Tarka
Plesa
Thompson
Stephenson
Dreger

Lawton
Pierce
Healy
Zdrilic
Richter

Should be more than capable of defeating Egypt but it gives some players an extra run.

We've come a long way when that sort of squad is our second team.
2009-01-17 10:05:19
yep, our NT is a lot stronger. In my time in charge I've seen defense going from very good defending making the side to magical being close to the minimum to make the 1st side as an example.
2009-01-17 10:33:37
That's incredible. Even with such a small pool of talents coming out we've managed to come so far.
2009-01-17 11:09:03
Yeah it's a sensational effort given the lack of users we have against some of the other NT's. Helps that we don't need the users to train them as we can pass juniors on to other foreigners who will train them, although the users we do have need the junior schools in order to produce future stars. We may be outnumbered but we certainly have some fire power at our disposal :). Long may it continue.

Guess the biggest news today is the change of database. I'll still be keeping the manual copy as a backup but with 2 managers it is probably easier to have an online db. So, we've now shifted to the NTDB system which means when I set everything up properly you'll be able to submit players directly either through firesokker or manually.

There were a few reasons we decided to do this.

1) 2 managers -> could get a bit messy if we're constantly updating and switching information about player skills. Tigermaster has already used this NTDB with Malaysia so that helps too.
2) Foreign players who don't understand English might now submit players.
3) I don't have to translate 20-30skmails a month like I use to have to
4) Has a ranking automatically, so you can kind of see where your player is ranked.

So yeah. Stay tuned.

Woohoo, good move. :)

Does NTDB have any niceties for the NT managers behind the scenes? Custom ranking/tracking, etc?

Good move.. a needed one :)

It's very nice to see the oz dream team and work out where our players are standing... very similar to the age ranking put in place by you and Achmid but easier to read and navigate.

yeah, not so much fun accepting the players in 1 by 1 when there's 300 to enter :p. Getting there though.
2009-01-21 08:35:44
oh you should have asked, I could have entered mine :)
ah ah...
not funny actually, only got 3 decent ones :(
