if chummy = sexy then I would say sexy not chummy, pure logic...

it means nice, pretty, good looking so to some extend sexy...

You two can travel there and check if you want, I don't make things up... what would be the benefit anyway?
2009-02-13 10:50:02
Doesn't sound particularly endearing, but I suppose it would be "choom-ay" in England.

All I remember is that my mates up there never used it to describe a "cubic meter" even if she was friendly and good company...

I'd pronounce it "tch-eh-me"...

This can be solved if you come up here in september for the rally, a few of my pommy friend will be here... :)

That's the plan. :)

shummy? maybe it's sexy+hot+yummy? :p

as for chummy, there is such a word in the dictionary...:p so maybe sexy + chummy(friendly) = shummy(sexy&friendly)? ;p

2008-01-19 Australia - Republica Dominicana 4:1 (WCQ/1sts)

Where to start. Guess most already know none of the SI players got through, leaves a bit of a hole to fill but we'll manage as we've got reasonably good depth. Republica Dominicana could be tricky to score a load of goals, I'm hoping 10+ to pick up on Osterreich's 2-0 win against them, especially when Osterreich piled 21 past Ghana (guess what we're chasing next week) whilst they take on Guatemala who we didn't beat by nearly enough. We need as much goal difference as possible and we need to get away from the 3rd placed seeds in goal difference to give us that fall back option if things turn sour against Osterreich.

Not giving too much away here, although lacking 5 of your best 6 strikers isn't terribly fun.

Hope everything goes well and we come away with a win. Anything above 5 I'll settle for but I'd prefer 10+.

Andy on the field?

Island knocked over Portugal, so at this stage appears like 2 sides are already +3 points above 18. 21 points might be the minimum cut for a 3rd placed side. That means a win against Osterreich/Belgium is a must.

Still we'll take it as it comes, aim for 2nd then see what else prevails.

It's not too surprising Island got the best over Portugal, really. They might as well repeat it and taking Portugal down on goal difference is possible, if not likely. You should still overcome Austria, though, which you probably will. :)

Wow! If even Dreger got his time on the field, then it means that the squad was really weak in the offence. 5:1 looks good considering it. 2 from Willis are nice :) Assists nr. 60 and 61!
2009-02-14 20:23:43
Bad luck with the red card on the side of Willis but Australia was much better anyway.
2009-02-15 00:59:35
Your conditional orders were smart as you immediately covered the red card.

I thought you were more unlucky with the injury to your keeper (29 days!). We definitely scored more easily once your reserve keeper was on.

Reasonably satisfied with that, tried to get players running through holes to open up the long passes but it just didn't seem to happen as often as I'd hoped. In saying that Zdrilic opened up the channel to Willis on a number of occasions and some of the combo's between the two of them gave a chance to pass forward to our strikers.

We were saved by superior skills, IMO. Dominican Republic were unlucky to concede the first two and then things got easier for us playing against 10 men and a reserve keeper. The interplay between Zdrilic and Willis was a shining highlight in a game where I thought we were outplayed tactically.

We got the points in the end, so job done.
2009-02-15 13:56:37
I'd disagree with that tbh but that's just my opinion. You can beat any opposition by sticking 5 across the back and sitting deep if you've got defenders with high defense level as they obviously do but it makes for a reasonably boring game attacking wise.

I also don't know if we had that much of an advantage skills wise over them given about half our team were out with form issues/injuries.

We had the territory, we had the shots and we got the goals. There isn't anywhere to get past a defense without bombing a through pass through the gap and if you sit deep enough you're never going to have that happen.

Can't remember the first two goals but I didn't seem to think there was a lot of luck to concede and there were a few more I thought were unlucky not to hit the back of the net. The keeper going off made a difference as they didn't pull off as many saves as before.

Would seem to think the 2nd goal as it turned out was a little fortunate but should have been buried off the first rebound by Croxall.

The first was intentionally planned for and it got executed, although didn't happen as often as I would have liked. Don't really see where the "luck" came from considering it was one of the planned moves I tried to have happen. Sure it was fortunate but every goal involves some luck. The only real fortunate moment was hitting the pass straight back to Tarka, the rest was imo well constructed.
