well yeah it's random but when you draw #2,#3,#4,#6 and likely #3 again it makes it seem a lot less random ;).
Gradiner has chosen of making me very very disappointed....

Great, Beauchamp out. There goes that plan. Every player that could be used in his situation is either injured or shocking form. Time for a reshuffle. Damn. Really needed Beauchamp for this, would have gone perfectly had he been available.
Well we're really depleted in midfield. That's going to seriously hurt against a side of Canada's strength. I've got a lineup set, I don't think it's going to be good enough to upstage Canada with a dominant performance. That's not to say I don't think we can win because we've still got the core of the squad which is the important thing. I'm just worried whether we've got the firepower to shut down their midfield to prevent Lavyrenko or whatever his name is from seeing the ball.
Top seeds have been tumbling out of the tournament this round, let's just hope we don't follow. I'm pretty concerned because I know a lot of what Canada can achieve with their squad, I've observed it on numerous occasions over the past 5-6 seasons so I think I know danger before it arises.
A win is what I'm hoping for but our defense will have to take on a lot of responsibility and stand up and be counted.
Game is in 30minutes time, so all will be revealed. I can say that Timpano,Beauchamp are both out and unavailable. As previously mentioned, Beauchamp was a key to my initial plan, that's been a major blow.
That forced my B plan which is something you plan for but hope never to have to execute. This isn't the first time I've had to resort to opening up the folder titled "B".
Bring on the game though :)

In other news, got the exact tactic I was expecting from Canada and consequently hammered home and completely dominated them. Helped they didn't use Lavrynenko too.
Very nice cometer, read those cheeky Canadidans like a book!
The lack of central mid was obvious, but the trade-off was well worth it.. Aussie defenders were all over their strikers! Think you can be very happy with that tactic.
And lol @ Maras 88th minute.

and the ruddster himself makes an appearance!
totally gave it to them, without lube too ;) seems like kohler fancies himself as a winger, maybe he's trying to get a point across to you :P and i think this is the first time i've ever seen willis do a long grounded pass from the wings, instead of the usual beckham whip

No idea what Maras was thinking, there wasn't a player capable of chasing him down before the keeper and instead wanted to pass it to Willis and put it out of play. Fortunately we had the game sewn up by then, otherwise it might have been words ;).
I got the opportunity to cut out most of their likely threats as a consequence of them having played the same tactic every week. Offside traps don't worry me, I find them fairly easy to break through and then you're essentially guaranteed a free shot against the keeper.
Unlucky to concede though, was an absolute belter from a midfielder from range.
Good to get through that comfortably, they've really got some dangerous players. They didn't use them effectively tonight though and there was more than enough holes to create attacks from.
Looks like we play Bosnia next. Could be tricky but probably another winnable game.

Ground passes are always safer. They usually happen when your striker is free in the box and no defenders are near, otherwise they whip in the cross. With an offside trap, you expect a few more of the ground passes if you get in behind ;).
Don't know what negatives to take from the game. I did notice a few gaps opening up in our defense in the 2nd half but on the whole the game went down smoothly.
Rudnicki was a choice made for the extra defensive benefits, he's still a little short in some areas.

It's good to see Willis back in health ;)
Maras passed to Willis because Andy started screaming "pass me the damn ball! I wanna get a hattrick of assists!". And as Maras and Willis played together in team, Jose decided not to be selfish...and 'ding-donged' it eventuallly ;)

Beauchamp wasn't supposed to play the game he got injured in... but I stuffed up :(
But damn it, he was back to fully fit.... why did he have to get hurt again!

I can't believe you have that player in III's... nice work!
Have you ever thought of selling him and buying a whole new team? :)

Before that he had Jamie Garland, so it's not the first star he's had. He's been around longer than I have as a user so I'm not surprised he has players of that quality. Divisions don't really mean much if you've been around for ages ;).
Also if he sold Beauchamp he wouldn't be able to get a whole new team, maybe 1 player of the same standard or 2 at a slightly worse standard. He'd get someone around 12-13million and then that's really enough for 2-3 div 2 standard players. Stretching 12million to cover 11 players is hard to do unless you're still getting an established XI together.

My whole squad was bought with $884k so I will respectfully disagree. :)
