My only guess is that TM forgot to finalise the tactic and made a few mistakes numbers wise. Fortunately it wasn't a critical game and we only lost 5-0 despite having 25 shots against us. Could have been a lot worse than it was.

Still at the end of the day, there's a long time left in the season and campaign.

Ignoring the obvious, it wasn't too bad an attempt. Defense positioning needs a serious workout (was the same in U21's too) but at senior level it's even more important not to have defenders drop that far back as it allows free crosses in, or free shots inside the box. That's where the majority of their 25 shots came from.

Papaluca had a solid game for the most part though and we occasionally gave them trouble at the other end.

Was a stock borkos tactic, sitting 5 at the back exposing space in between the outer 2 defs, 2 dm's in front and using a winger. Wasn't surprised to see that card used. Could have been better exposed but it wasn't to be. Anyway plenty of time left for TM to pick up and improve :).

Yeah, my only problem with the general TM tactics is they are too defensive for my liking. A stock tactic that gets used 75% of the time, that's relatively defensive is fine, but against strong teams, go attacking. Only something unexpected and well thought out offensively that allows us many possible ways through to the strikers will work, and Sokker will do the rest in keeping the scoreline down

I was going to mention the defense dropping back too far too early as well, but you beat me to it.

We were a little unlucky not to score I thought (despite only getting 2 shots off), but Belgie only nailing 5 of 25 is pretty fortunate all things considered.

Yeah, 5 out of 25 is a joke...although Lippens, who got 1/15, is not really a finisher type...and he was quite wide.

No idea why Willis was used as right def, you were lucky that the winger was on the other side...

And yeah, I watched some games of Tigermaster and saw that he uses very low defense...

Well I'm happy with my good performance, and also happy that Australia lost only 5 goals - if Belarus concedes more, then you're in great position.

**** - Thought i'd set the tactic - I know I had set the line up - but I mustnt have saved the formation. All things considered 5-0 isnt the worst result we could have asked for. I didnt end up having the time that I thought that I would have tonight to do last minute finishes.

Its been a bad week (personally but lets not go there) - lets just put this one behind us and concentrate on the rest of the group stage.
