I think this is a great idea!

Wacky, you should rest Ando this weekend.

You can play him, thereafter :P

:DD

Btw - I'm still waiting for 18yo solid pace, tech, striking Australian :((

Yeah mate, I'll rest him ;)

I noticed a few nat managers when listing requirements put up a collective number, for example:

-a forward must be at least 11 (formidable) in striking and pace/technique combined 15.

That gives you plenty more leeway when putting down requirements.

-Midfielders can be a combination of playmaking and passing, and you could add thatpace, technique and some defence can also affect his chances.

-defenders defence and pace or technique whatever you prefer, some PM preferred ideally

-GK, goalkeeper and pace.

-All players must have minimum of good stamina.

You could then put down a final word like "if your player just falls short with these requirements but feel he has something to offer please send me a SK mail"

would that make it easier for you and us? I can't help but feel some players might be borderline to these stats and if managers see some sort of outline it might coerce them into training them the right way for the NT

But it's hard to say, especially when talking about young ones...

Why do we need requirments? The database is full, we've seen all Australian players(excluding ones, which weren't sent by owners...:/) and we see most of new ones from youth schools.

So requirments aren't really needed :)

I think the way to go is to check out the "ratings" in the NT matches, and if one of your guys is hitting around that mark for the same assignment (ie. MID), then make sure Sriram knows about him (i.e. that he is in the database).

I think that is a great Idead wacky. I dont really think that we need requirements. Just as long as they get consistent marks and are in the database should be enough?

I just think requirements make it a lot easier for everybody. There are a lot of people who are playing sokker who arent really sure how player skills compliment one another. A simple outline of requirements can help users adapt their training along the lines that is required by the coach. You'd get smarter training for the community as a result imho.

@Wacky, sometimes ratings can be misleading, my former striker Bate was rating as good as Amien, yet Amien was/is a much better allround player

...i'm with tigerTUFF with the ratings being used as a general rule of thumb...

...the biggest change in ratings (or marks) in players each week seem to be the keeper or noticeably the keeper eg how can a keeper score a mark of 40+ one week then the next week score a mark of around 20 or less?...

…It all boils down to how well the team is playing, who their playing and so on and what 'effort' the player(s) have performed during the course of the game...

…In the keeper example, if the keeper isn't doing any 'work' in one game then he will naturally get a lower mark, on the other hand if he is made to pull off a few saves etc then his mark will be higher…

…Taking Srirams message if I put in a requirement for technique to be at least solid, Ishida wouldn't be in the NT today onboard, ISHIDA must be talented in other areas to be selected for the NT and not just because of being a level or 2 lower than solid technique...

…As we move into the WC this week, it is not about players being excluded from the NT, just trying to get the squad trained up to a standard where they can be given a chance for selection to the NT one day…

Hm...I guess there all are youngsters in database, I was talking a little about they trainings...but few users just ignored my sk-mails when there were elections, and a week - two before elections.

I don't know what You think about it, but I think that I can still make the database and help with choosing good training.

anything that helps the progress of the players...
2006-05-03 13:22:55
some of us who have NT players and in tight league games actually need them to win us some league games. :). So given that, i'm unlikely to rest Campbell but yeh if i had a strong replacement i'd certainly consider it.
2006-05-03 22:03:43
It's no need, it's understandable that you need him...but if someone has match which he will win for sure, then it's no problem I think?

And maybe just making a substitution when leading with 3 goals?
2006-05-04 01:54:33
Yeah, don't worry, there is no way im resting Ando, regardless of what Aragorn says.

He, um, needs his training, yeah ;)

Aragorn, if you injure Ando, you injure our WC campaign. I suggest you play no one far enough forward to get near the box, just to be safe ;)
2006-05-04 01:55:43
Any possibility in getting him to bench when winning 3:0? *Aragorn, don't look like that on me :p*
