Asunto: National Team

Achmid, Sverige/BiH are 50pts+ ahead of us. We're playing a friendly against low-rank Singapur, if they lose hard they might lost ~30pts, to gain +20pts against Singapur we'd neeed about 7-8:0.

Our last 3 games:

15 shots - 3 goals
18 shots - 2 goals
10 shots - 1 goal

In total: 43 shots - 6 goals.

Will do what we can, we'll see how it works. We have the players to do it, but we have to rely on luck with scoring this time :).

If I knew before the season how it would turn out, I'd choose a different team. I was expecting that we'd be at a secure 30-31 position so I've decided to take on a 'safe' team.

The 3:2 last week cost us some points, though the worst one was loss against India, even though we had 18 shots to their 7...

I havent been watching how the formula has changed for rankings, but by the old caldulation, for us to gain 20 point on sing, we would only need to win about 3-0

You bring up svergie and BiH like we need to get top 30, Im pretty sure we only need top 32 but I can be corrected if Im wrong.

BiH will be out of our reach.
Svergie are only 50pts ahead. I good win from us, and a 3-0/4-1 loss from them and we could get ahead. And given they are paying eesti, there is no reason this couldnt happen

Slovensko/Portugal/Argentina are all in a similar position, except closer to us on points.
If argentina lose, they will drop below us without us playing. Portugal a big loss will do the same. If we add this on to us gaining points, then we are well within shot. We are 15pts outside the top 32, that is bugger all, always has been, always will be. You are crying defeat already when we are in as good a chance as we have ever been to crack the top 32 again, and we've come close before

You might be right, but I'm not so sure about it. We didn't get that much points even after beating USA/England from what I remember...

if somebody has plus, can you please check how our rank changed after wins with England and Cymru? you just need to check the graph on main page of NT

We have had a couple f games that havent gone our way like india and last week, but none of that matters now. what matters is 15pts in ranking. I know you will try, but I suggest (if you havent already) contacting a few of the managers that have been playing with this new ME and see what they say,

Ive got no advice as I have technically quit from the playing side of this game and just jump in the forum every now and then (whole reason I sold up my player but didn't completely remove my team).

I know you will do your best, but given how much is on the line with this match, I suggest doing everything you possibly can to figure something out that will get us through and Im sure one of the other guys will do a great job taking over next season as I think I recall you saying you were leaving the NT for now

So 2 strikers with an advanced winger to get in behind whatever defence they throw at you? If you need goals, may as well go for it.

Hard to say. Most people think that in the new ME the wingers are quite useless because of many inaccurate crosses and weak finishin ration of headers

but since we have one truly amazing winger in form, it would be a waste not to try it

I guess I must think about it and we will see how we're going to play tomorrow. :p

USA would have to draw and Portugal would have to get crushed in order to let us finish in top 32

USA wouldn't have to draw, just a 1 goal win would let us get ahead

Portugal losing would give us a decent chance, especially if it was a to nil loss

Yup looks like we won't make top 32 based on the old point system

Ok re did the calculation, and we miss out on portugal by 12 points :(

If we had have won 3-0 (instead of 5-2) and them lost 3-0 (instead of 3-1) we would have been through :(
