Asunto: National Team

Today we play against Latvia in a Under age U26 game.
You will see some new players in the field, I hope they will perform decent.

The World Cup groups stage has been drawn. We will be playing in Group F against:

1. England
2. Colombia
3. Panama
4. El Salvador
5. Jamaica

Not that bad. But not easy at all. Go Sokkeroos!

Even we losed this, we had almost same marks like our opponent and same number of shots, not bad game from a so young team.
Glad to see some of "my boys" coming back to first NT.

It was a funny game.
A lot of 1 vs 1 striker vs goalie chances were missed. But it showed me how random this game has become.

On Saturday we will be playing yet another U26 game, this time against Vietnam U26.
It will be another good test for our young lads.

As you say, no chance...for Jamaica at week 13 :D

Unfortunately I was too afraid of Panama, they had last season a very good campaign in final group stages and I played defensively, and that cost us a lot.

Our defense did not stand a chance in front of their strikers, although Elrich made a good match despite the big no. of goals he received.

Go Sokkeroos! I will try to repair this unfortunate lost game in the upcoming matches.

Friendly Game - Australia vs Hong Kong 2-0

In this match more reserves had the chance to play and they did a great job.
I tried a 4222 tactic, which was ok, we created a lot of goal chances, we even missed a penalty and hit the crossbar for 3 or 4 times.

Next stop is Colombia. It will be hard against them seeing that we encountered major problems against Panama and Jamaica.

Australia vs Colombia 4-2

Hi friends. I am coming with great news. This morning we played our 3rd qualifying game, on home soil, against better ranked and favorites Colombia.

I made a risky tactic, a 4132 as I wanted more possession in the mid line, but as well I didn`t want to lack power in the def line.

We started with the left foot, being one goal down from the 27th minute.
But Jackovic and Bate started putting pressure and things went smoothly.

Great win if we are seeing the average mark difference, but the score tells us another story.

England vs Australia 6-2

The final score is not the real truth from what happened in this match. England played in 10 after 20 minutes(red card), but still scored 4 goals in this period. As well when they had 1 vs 1 chances the ball came back to their players, when we had 1 vs 1 chances exact the opposite happened. We lacked a little in def-striker individual tackling and somehow the reaction of Elrich wasn`t the best possible.

I`m upset, because we played well, but the final score is false.

Go Sokkeroos! I hope in the return leg things will be different!
