And we are off to a good start with a win against an opponent ranked 14 spots higher than us...

Nice!!
Early days for my youth school but it's a start. Trying to keep an eye out for Achmid's & your youth rejects, but feel free to let me know if you TL any youths that might be worth training.

Great start mate, that's what we like to see!

We are on a road trip to Israel this week in search of more ranking points. Israel currently sit in 37th place, 11 spots and 465 ranking points above us so even a draw here would be a quality result. There's a familiar face managing Israel in MrCopy who is known to visit our forums, so I will spell out the tactics we will use right here ;)

3.5.2 with an offside trap, two high wingers, two defensive central midfielders, strikers close together, goalkeeper wearing a green dress

Place your bets!

My Friend congratulations on the victory against Crna Gora. The game between Australia and Israel will be a good game. It will be an exciting game since I will be playing against the last team where I was technical director.

You're the only Aussie who can afford him haha
2019-03-15 22:59:54
I’m gutted. I purchased a new gun striker just before the Aussie was listed.
2019-03-16 01:56:05
That sucks. I thought I saw you had a bid on him, but it must have been another player (I remember seeing a striker who was going for 21 or 22Mill and thinking, who would spend that much on a single player...clicked on him and saw your name haha).

It would almost be good if I could afford him because I could give him defender training and really make him a handful up front

achmid para achmid
Wow 30 shots with only a 2 rating point difference. Haven't watched it, but I assume something must not quite have gone to plan tactically.

But these results always happen eventually, good to learn from

Well, that was a shocker...

Israel 7-1 Australia

A few learnings from that one. I somehow managed to play a fringe defender in the midfield. Not quite sure how that happened. Israel's winger (great player) dominated one side of the pitch. Five at the back would've provided better coverage. And lastly, I played the strikers just a little too high resulting in a whole bunch of offsides.

Given they are a higher ranked team it hasn't hurt us too badly. After two matches played we have improved our ranking points and moved up one spot in the rankings.

We now move onto the mini world cup tournament (for teams that aren't playing in the real thing). Australia has drawn Group C which contains:

Mexico (ranked 32)
Australia (48)
Costa Rica (78)
Ghana (87)

This is a group we should advance from. First up it is a very tough challenge against Mexico.

Tim Alagich sold for 25 470 400 AU$ !!!

Greetings Friend, watching the game I can analyze that your defenses and your first line of midfield were very low which caused the Israeli media to attack easier with the Israeli wing. You must raise both lines a bit so you can block the attack of the rival team's media.

Luck in the Mini World Cup ..

Regards

A tough start to the mini world cup against a strong opponent.

México 7-0 Australia

A dominant performance by our much-fancied rivals who somehow managed to miss out on the world cup despite a top 32 ranking. After three games in the job I've learnt two key things...
1. Not being able to see the skills of some of our best players because they're owned by managers who won't provide info makes things very hard!
2. NT tactics are at another level and I have a steep learning curve ahead of me.

In good news, the hardest pool game is now done and he next two matches are winnable. This week we have...

Ghana - : - Australia
