Asunto: National Team

It think we have a misunderstanding over here. It doesn't relate to any of my words at all.
We disagree very often but actually I'm starting to get used to it.

achmid para Vampyr
Haha love it

Vampyr it's true, the club team and the national team are two different things.

@ bunicutza05
I play the same tactic in the club because I do not play for results. I bought players for this tactic and it works well. In NT usually is more tactic possibilities. I saw the last matches of the Bulgarian national team, and first half was quite good, they didn't have too much opportunities to shot a goal. In second half after the Bulgarian injured midfielder change, everything started to look different.

Also our last tactic against the Netherlands was pretty good, there was no need to experiment. Besides, let's be honest, Australia has limited manpower, so the number of tactics is also limited. Next time I will try to make the game much better in our performance. I have an idea how to improve it, it should be better.

Corect. These are the details that make the difference

It is true if the strength of the team is similar

I agree with bunicutza in some aspects

They way somebody plays in the club is a really good benchmark about the style, so, If somebody train defender, most probable will use defensiva tactic. If somebody train att, most probable never will play with only 1 striker. In my case I train mids and before my candidatura, I saw some very interesting mids in Australia, that boost me to come.

When I do Scouting, I go to the club and try to see similarities. If they are big, I see the matches because the way lunes mové, will be as the NT. Even, sometimes, some coches test NT táctics on the ir clubs...

On the other hand, with NT you have to use the best 11, and see who is the opponent, but will try to use some tactic movement that already knows

"Australia has limited manpower, so the number of tactics is also limited"

I very much disagree with this.
As an U21 coach, the players and skills are even more limited, but the possibilities or tactics are still huge.
Sure we may have favourites but there is no limitation to tactics.

Say a country only has one striker - ie it is seen as the weakness of the team. Some people would say, well we can only use one striker tactics then, but others would say, given it's our weak point, lets strengthen it up by putting more strikers in place.

Same can be said for all positions.

Whilst it may be true that not every country can beat every other country, Australia is only 15pts off the strongest NTs, and although unlikely, good tactics can make up for 10pts, and luck the rest. Hell look at USA, 12 pts below Poland last match and only lost 1-0.

Tactics are the most important thing we have in this game, and whilst players may determine how well they pull off a tactic, it's up to the NT coach to work out the best way to do it, and there are always many different ways to use the same players, with the same weaknesses, sometimes in completely opposite ways

All its true but I would like to say only that stronger teams have more possibility.
When you say about USA game you can also say look at Autralia, thay lose only 1:0 against Netherlands last week. Last time the same tactic was good enough, this week not. Maybe I could play 631 tactic with def line on the penalty field line, but we also were not sure if it gives us good result. Bulgaria changed tactic very often.
As I said, for the next time I will try prepare something special.
Result 0:8 always hurts, I was very angry with myself after this match because I was counting on an even game. However, this is not the time to argue and judge, you will judge me at the end of the season. Everyone here is doing a good job for the NT and let's focus on that. The effects will come with time.

I have no problem with us losing 0:8, mistakes happen and sometimes (not so much this one) you need to risk a big loss to get a potential win. These results happen, and have happened to me as well in various games.

Just pointing out that I feel that no matter what players you have, all tactics are possible, just they have less room for error.

Sometimes goals against us are inevitable so instead of going super defensive, it is better to say, well we are going to let in some goals anyway, how can I try to maximise goals for us to hopefully out score them.

One game doesn't make or break an NT manager, good luck moving forward, you still have the Australian communities support

Maybe we have a misunderstanding but your first sentence seemed to be pretty clear that there is no point in checking club matches of nt managers prior to a game. I was stating there is almost always something you can find out if you look hard enough. Even if they set a tactic for training purposes you can still learn things (perhaps less than otherwise) but I’d always at least check club matches as part of my scouting process in case there is. The amount of times it led to me predicting the tactic a side would use was more times then it gave me no information. I’m happy to agree to disagree though. Wouldn’t be the first time :).
