Australia - Al Maghrib 3:2

Very difficult game. We still have problem with att line, I must set Trajcevski, Jude lost a form. Again we didn't shot penalty, but we won after all.

Next there will be one week break for friendly game, we play against Hayastan.

Good win. The most important, you got the points. Australia has a problem with effectiveness on strikers, then, you have to create as many opportunities as possible. Playing agains Al Maghrib always has been a tricky match. Just see, u scored 1 goal each 5 shots, they did 1 each 2.5 shots

Australia - Hayastan 0:3

Unfortunately we lost. In short, we were creating the game, the opponent scored goals :/

I checked two tactics, and some few new solutions. We look forward to the development of yound strikers Trajcevski, Caserly etc.. At this moment difference in att line is too high :/

You did an excellent match, great proposition. Agree with you, what is making the difference is the level on the strikers.

I have couple of comments, all of them are on tactic but just on details, I like your idea of gameplay.

1. Haugland/Reynolds are very well positioned on the first half of the pitch, but when attacking, they are lost. You may need to be more conservative with them and try to run closer of all the other mids, just at the end, push that position to opposite goalie, also dont make this position to run behind the striker
2. Complement of the previous point, the striker sometimes positioned too low and crash with the playmaker. plus, you can make the striker to shoot more in front of the GK, not only from the side
3. I like the movements and offensive attitude of the MID DEF, but when attacking try to leave one closer to the defense. I think sometimes the center def runs ahead and creates the hole that allow the striker to run easy


Good luck playing with the defense almost in the middle of the field, it could be good if you have the right players, otherwise can be suicide. The defenders were comming with very good projection

Nerozurro thank you for your advice. I promise that I will think about each of them and try to introduce them to the tactics.
Unfortunately, due to deficiencies in the attack line, I have to look for non-standard solutions, which is why each such tip is valuable to me. We have quite a lot of choice in the midfield so I'd like to use that to create an advantage.

yes, had same experience. I prefered to send mids to the goalie instead of using many strikers..... Only when I had 3 strikers with high form (a miracle) I was able to use 2 att tactic

I agree. Thought Haugland looked out of the game for large periods. Consequently, when we turned over the ball on attack the whole midfield was free for Hayastan to exploit which I think was probably the biggest concern for me. Against stronger sides (which is probably most games these days), I think the midfield needs to be protected to minimise the opponent's opportunities. Hard to day with a back 5, 2dm, 1 winger formation but I suspect Haugland and maybe one of the DM's could have supported that role.

Definitely not a bad effort/tactic though.

Also I'm not sure if this is something Hayastan normally do or if this was a once off / something new, but I did notice that when the ball was moved wide their central defense opened up a huge hole someone could have run through. Thought I'd add that after my general thoughts in case this was a new thing that couldn't have been scouted/observed earlier.

Al Maghrib - Australia 1:1

I thought before the game to set the tactic of 451, but it's good that I changed my plans because the opponent changed tactics for the first time in many matches and played a winger, it would be even hard to get a draw. Both teams had a chance to win this match. Unfortunately, there was no efficiency.
For some time now, I have been observing a decline in form of several important players, especially defenders (Ho, Bailey, Colina - he also caught the injury ). It's hard to replace such players, so I try to give young players a chance. Even if the result is not satisfactory, young players will earn additional training, which will pay off in the future seasons.

Collina will probably be SI come next game, so I am asking you do not play him until fully fit. :D

Australia - Bulgaria 0:1

I have to say that the match was quite equal. We have created some interesting opportunities to score. Of course, the opponent also had his chances, but that was certain before the game. Bulgaria scored goal by a free kick. In general, I am happy with the game, a little less with the result, I was counting on a draw ;)

Looks like a better result then last time. Haven’t seen the game yet but will try to find some time. A good result for us on that score line so nice work.

Good game. Good result. With some luck it could have ended 1-1. Bulgary never was "clearly" better than Australia.

I know it is easy to comment after the match, but want to write 2 sugestión for next matches..

1. Jim doesn't need to run back to the Middle of the field. Leave him always 3/4 of the field and ahead...

2. Migh consider using the second striker as playmaker / striker. So in this position the first half could be used with another player... More playmaker profile and the second half with Julian. Also try to adjust the movement whilr defendind as a PM receiver.


Defenders and mids were sharp, alouth lohy ran couple of times outside the field.

Bulgary score was because of borg mistake....

Nederland - Australia 4:1

This time the tactics did not make up for the skill difference. The Netherlands won deservedly. Next week we play a friendly match with Malaysia, important because the loss of points will cost a lot of ranking points, so the best players will play and there will be no tactic experiments.
