Asunto: National Team
Also you should have the best X of each position in the squad currently with maybe a few players that missed out last season that might be worth looking at again this season to see if they’re ready (eg Carr,Munn etc)
Any issues with skills of players send a skmail as I have about 220-230 updated as of yesterday.

Jeans is the only one that I don't have access. But I wrote a message to a coach about one match in NT after club season will be over. Based on what I see we have few players that can replace him (assuming high form) or are close enough to catch up into him. Once I finish setting all up I can get into more details if somebody will be interested (not sure if this topic will be a good place, since You know, other NT coaches can also read it :D)
Yeah I know any communication needs to be carefully thought out. Generally though I wasn’t afraid to be generic about where players stood relative to others but I wouldn’t expose the skills of those players freely outside of to the manager of that player.
Another good news :) I received current skills of Bob Jeans and agreed with coach for one specific match :) Other than that I'll accept current coach request and not use him in other matches.
Also I started trimming out DB comparing to requirements I've used in Japan. Australia have much wider range of players, so 15/15 req for DEF's for 30+ players seems redundant :)
DB update is still in progress, but I have one observation that I'll most likely discuss with both achmid and cometer. Maybe there is something that I'm missing ;)

You should play best players when needed No matter what manager says
That’s what I did in the end. They didn’t provide skills and didn’t want an injury so I played jeans more often and said well you’re the one that ultimate loses because I was willing to negotiate. Wouldn’t have accepted one match a season though, that’s effectively none. I’d just play Jeans if you’ve got the skills and he still fits into our senior side just because of how the current manager has been with not providing skills but that’s just me.
This is the World Cup. We should be playing our best team, other than for special circumstances, such as their team is playing a Cup final and the NT match is not critical.
I think it all depends on how close others are and whether it is 1 match, 1 opponent etc.
Friendlies play whenever as no risk of injury.
If other players are close in skill, than 1 opponent (not match) could be quite reasonable in exchange for the owner to show skills to NT coach (not copy and paste, but to leave on make available).
Everyone is definitely a bit different.
On the other side, if it were Trajcevski when he was a standout striker compared to all others like he was for a while, then 1 opponent would not be enough, but in a defender, if it's the difference of say 3 skill points in a secondary, then not too much of an issue

Like achmid wrote, in DEF line there are plenty of players that can be used instead of Jeans. Second thing is, like I wrote, he is only player that I don't have 24/7 skills available so there is a risk that he may drop this Thursday (especially that he is 31y), so his placement will be suboptimal. Assuming same high form of all available defs, currently he may ends up on bench.
I was using same approach in Nippon (their Kurihara was comparable to Trajcevski) and only had him limited to most important matches. Since I respected manager request in first WCQ season, next one he agreed to use him regularly. On the other hand I had a NT coach who was using my player with slight injury during such matches. When I sent him a message to stop using him when he is injured, NT coach moved him to more active position to provoke longer injury and once he was fully healed, he removed him from NT. So I know the feeling from both sides ;)

Yep I agree with both yourself and Achmid. I was simplifying the scenario probably too much. I was simply saying if he was in your best xi then you play him regardless but yes if you have someone close enough that can do the same job then sure.
Im the opposite when it comes to friendlies though but I do see the logic being mentioned so understand that viewpoint. I’d rather a player if they’re your best available to play the official matches over friendlies so this whole friendlies no injuries and no nt training bonus throws a spanner into that mix.
Additionally, we’ve not really had that option until maybe the last season or two as Jeans was way above many others that have come through since. We’re probably less reliant on jeans now then we were even 2 seasons ago so it might be less of an issue but defenders forms are so crucial and we have a stack of them in not so great form atm.

I am liking this conversation about the thoughts of NT management because we are seeing how mangol operates and everyone can adjust expectation, give input etc. It's really good :D
Good luck in your first match this weekend Mangol

Wow, that guy playing your player while injured was both negligent and spiteful. What a combo. I'm glad you have good intentions and communication at the heart of what you do.
Good luck getting things together for these games.

Tomorrow we play our first match in WCQ season against Ireland (currently ranked 48th). Bunch of statistics :)
Last time Australia and Ireland faced in official matches was in S12 and both games was won :) In friendly matches Ireland had a lead. After clicking on screenshot, one can get more detailed stats.
Mark Stark is their NT coach for second season. Previously was coaching Nicaragua and in S64 qualified them into World Cup, but was not their coach in World Cup. Very experienced coach (account created in 2005) so I would expect a great match, where Ireland will be a favorite to win. We never faced each other, so it will be our first match :) I have a brief idea how I would like to play this match, but will recheck it at evening and tomorrow morning (injuries may be crucial here).
Something about their stars:
Jim Chandler [38005538] - trained from YS by the same coach, ATT playing at marks ~82, huge wage, so I would expect no less than 3x17 with high def
Christian McGinn [38029328] - I expect this will be their first choice keeper for this match, due to higher form. What can I say, marks 90+, so I assume something close to 16/18 for them. Similarly to us, they have few keepers that they can rotate, depending on form and injuries
After checking studio we can find out that Fans Expectations are "Your supporters hope the team won`t bring them too much shame in this match.". My expectations: I would give Ireland higher chances to win, but ingame engine loves "weaker" teams, so anything can happens in this match :)
IIRC, match starts at 9am local time, so I'll have a chance to revisit squad, but will not watch match live, due to IRL obligations. I'll write some summary at Sunday :)
Until next time!
EDIT 22:20 server time. All set up, thankfully no injuries for starting team so far :)

Good luck. Also possible that chandler has high pm if not defender. PM inflates marks a lot.
Based on this match stats I finally get what You've meant when You were talking about bad luck with shoots conversion rates;) But in the end what matters is that we've got 3 points against Ireland ;)
Score line was harsh. Should have been at least 2 probably 3. Excellent start though. I have no idea what Ireland were trying to do tactically mind you but you took advantage of it.
Surprised with a few selections you made but can’t complain with a 18-1 shot count.
