How would you like to know about player pops?
Do you update the database weekly to make sure the best players are on the field each week?

Yes, i update the DB from Terrion's tool : SK Assistente.
I just asked for a question about a potential bug into the tool.

U.A.E. - Australia 1:1
Very interesting but frustrating first game. We had some really nice chances to win but their GK made some great stops and at the end of the match, they got 2 great oppportunities to win also, thx to our GK and DEF.
I have to see again the game but i did not see the 10 chances given by stats match for U.A.E.
We faced to a similar team in terms of teamnotes. Not a good start i hoped. Let's focus to the 2nd game now.

Whilst it's a game we would expect to win on paper, the average marks of the teams on the field were basically the same, the shots the same, so the result appears to be a fair one (have not watched it yet).
Don't be too hard on yourself as the stats say it was pretty even and it's your first game as NT coach, it often takes a bit of time to get used to a new set of players, and even what tactics work best for the strength of the team you are managing. The "best" tactic in Polska div 1 is not necessarily the best tactic in Australia div 1 which is not necessarily the best tactic for Andorra div 1.
Good luck with the next round!

I'm surprised you used 0 substitutions. For me subs are a real game changer in NT games, especially since it's possible to use 5 of them.
I’m surprised you arranged a friendly against UAE to start. Adds pressure given we’ve beaten them twice last season so it puts you right away in a situation where you have more to lose then to gain.
On top of that yeah how you didn’t use substitutes and you didn’t play Crampton when based on form he is the superior choice to both Parkinson and Boyd. Subs should be used always it’s so important.

Thx all for answers :-)
@achmid : i'm not hard, don't worry ;-). I like competition and like to win games. When i made a result i did not hope, i am clear with that. Mangol managed to beat U.A.E. twice last season as mentioned cometer. We were favorite on paper. But i'm confident.
@borkos : Usually, i'm not a big fan of using substitutes excepted if there is a big gap in form or with a player with low stamina. I prefer to keep them because of injuries could happen. But i will take it into account on next games to see if subs can make differences.
@cometer : We play in a competition called Mini WC where U.A.E. and Australia were scheduled into the same group. You are right, it is a bad start considering that mangol managed to win against this team last season. About subs, you can see my answer just above and about Crampton, ha has a red card thus i could not use him in this game.

Fair points. That’s 2-0 (sums up my season to date :p). I also hadn’t realised MWC started already so yes that makes more sense :).

Tough but fair result by the looks of it and lucky to survive a couple of late chances. I'm also for the use of fresh legs in strategic positions, where it makes sense. I don't expect more injuries when making subs, is that a thing?
This was good chance for you to get to know the squad. Looking forward to game 2.

This all depends on depth and stamina.
Ideally you want the sub to come on at the moment the player coming on has skills above the player deteriorating.
This is going to be affected by difference in skill level, expected amount of work by the player on the field and stamina level.

Yup, that's why it's best to change winger or strikers, in my opinion. Formidable stamina doesn't mean that players don't get fatigued and some think that it works like that.
Side defs also a viable option if expecting a wing action from opponent.
Obviously also depends on where there is the biggest choice / where are the highest forms etc.
But IMO unless there's a terrible difference in skills/form between starters and subs, then at least 3 subs should be used, even at 60th or 70th minute.

Australia - USA 2:3
Again a bad result... And the stats again did not show what i felt when i saw the game.
Australia USA
Saltie Tactics 532ha
50% Possession 50%
61% Play in the half 39%
11 Shots 5
74.6 average mark 75.8
We were totally destroyed during the 1st 30 minutes and quite well dominated during all the game. We managed to score 2 awful goals. I changed 3 players on the field at 60' but nothing changed for us.

Offensively thought we were ok. Defensively thought we were ordinary. Gaps in defense everywhere, defenders dropping too far back too quickly into the goal box giving the USA space to shoot from the outside the box. I think there are some areas there to tidy up on. I’m not a huge supporter of having mids so far away from the defense as any turnover on offense exposes our defense and allows for easier through balls.
I’m surprised the shot count was that far in our favour but the results suggested we perhaps should have done better than we did.
It wasn’t a terrible effort, I think you can improve defensively a bit without losing the attack. I also think you should consider substituting defenders on as well to give some freshness to the defense line.
Throws need work as well.
