Unfortunately, we didn't have the required success rate here. The bad thing is that against a high press we need another striker who can break. Many times the strikers broke away but were caught up. We conceded a lot of easy goals. From now on we will try to beat Jamaica twice first and then we will see what chances we have against Bulgaria and France.

6-5 in shots means the tactic was a success however imo

And in this match the problem came from the first tactic. For the second matches, I know at least what to expect. It will be good if we can beat Jamaica twice. At least we will keep the favorites under pressure until the end :)

I hope we have a bit more luck against the favourites in the second half of the qualifiers. Now we will play a friendly match against a strong Swiss team. Then we will think about the second match against Jamaica.

Should get renaud back next week so that’s a plus

We start the second half of the qualifiers. After a reasonably good game against Switzerland we go out for a must win against Team Jamaica. My plea to all those coaching the Australian Nationals is to keep them safe for the all-important games against Bulgaria and France. If you can, don't let them play in all games during the week. Especially in the games on Friday. In Bulgaria we have adopted to play safe tactics in friendly matches. We even play the same opponent all the time :) Let's hope we can minimize injuries and make the most of the remaining matches!

The problems in attack continue, but we still won. Situations are created,but the goals are few. I hope this will be revenged in the games with the favourites and then we will have more chances in front of goal. I was definitely expecting 1-2 more goals today. Renaud was ready to come on the wing and boost our attack. But in the end we had to bring in Terje as a third striker.
So - we brought things to the point that before the games with Bulgaria and France we could hold our chances. I hope we will come out of these games with honour. Let's hope we have our best players for these two games.

Did you intentionally play Schofield/Parkinson with MID order? Parkinson managed to sneak a goal anyway, but that may have contributed to the potency in front of goal.
