I've been looking for opponents against which ranking points can be earned. Basically these are opponents that give us a chance to make up the gap to 48th place. On paper the teams are stronger than us,but if we want to move up we have to play these teams. I still wonder if we should sign up for the Asian Cup. So we will play with the best players in these matches.

When I was trying to gain ranking points, I had a system in place which basically looked at team strength and current rating points and seeing who had these out of proportion.
Now Australia were always out of proportion under my guidance (which is a good thing, I had a much higher rating point compared to team strength). Normally this is because someone either pushed a side, there was a sudden drop in player skill levels or someone was a very good tactician, but using this system, I was able to earn rating points very quickly.
It also allowed me to avoid very low ranked teams that were having a surge in strength and that had the potential to drop our points quick.
It was a lot of work to set up but results show that it worked.

Yep, that’s definitely the way to do it and it’s worth the effort!
Unfortunately, our opponent equalized in the last second of the match :( Their striker went through several players just like Leo Messi in his best years :))) but maybe a draw is a fair result. It's a pity, because we could have taken more points for the rankings.
Thank you for the vote of confidence in me. I hope to live up to your expectations. Thank you for the players you have coached. Now that it is the preparation period, my request is to focus on training and shaping the players who will bring out the qualifiers.

Remember in general, wins are more important that going for glory against strong teams when trying to rise in rank.
Obviously there is a tipping point, but good selection of teams we can beat who aren't too much lower on ranking is the key

I took a couple of days to look at which teams were a good fit for us. Even though the teams we will meet are higher in the standings than us I think we have a chance against them. We did well against Spain, we will try to make the most of it against our next opponents. It's good that even a loss by one goal difference will bring us points. If we can beat a couple of teams it will be great. We need to make up about 140 points. We need games like this. Apart from that, we also recorded the Asia Cup. It is even more dangerous there. Because we will have to beat some teams with a difference. And there will be some who are not bad at all but like us are behind in the rankings.
I hope your scouting and calculations are spot on, the last couple of coaches who tried this ended the season with many losses and with a big loss in points.

On the positive side, of my knowledge of the seniors, we have never had a stronger defensive line (including reserves) or a stronger 1st team GK than now.

The defense is up to par. Certainly not inferior to some top 16 teams. The midfield is top 32 level. The lag there is on the defensive midfield, but we can still be fine. So far we don't have a top winger and that's a problem. However, the two guys I use are fine even against stronger teams. The main problem is in attack. We don't have a second striker there. We have to play with one worth under 2m. That's really a problem. That's why I hope the young guys I called into the team will be ready soon and Terje will keep his form. As for the schemes to counter the opponents, there is my strength. Against everyone I come up with a scheme specifically for his team. I hope to succeed in what I have planned.
Yeah I was wondering if the 2nd ATT may be an issue with just Terje as the big dog these days.
It was the same problem when Trajcevski was the only world class striker.
Unfortunately I think a few strikers who could have been there alongside Terje got hit by injuries at crucial times.
We definitely have some great strikers coming through although they have spent their entire career with the shorter seasons so will be interesting to see where they max out if trained properly (and I think most are, or were, with good trainers).

I was expecting exactly this scheme from them,because I know their coach . He plays exactly with it in his last arcades. We brought our attacking players up high to make it difficult for them,but unfortunately we only scored one goal. With both schemes we conceded too many shots . I really hope both guys who play in Poland will pick up at least 2 levels of technique as fast as possible.
Moving forward! We will try to correct the mistake in the next games. It is clear that we will have games like this, but it makes me angry when we lose games like this. I wish for a rematch in the Asia Cup against them ...

Rough result. Ponting no slouch in goals either especially with sd form and they still scored 1:2 ratio. Those kind of ratios you’d usually come across if they had every shot 1 on 1 after getting through the defense. Haven’t seen the match yet but did we press and just get beaten by them breaking through or something? Otherwise it’s hard to believe we’d give up 5 from 10.
The problems didn't come from the goalkeeper. The goalkeeper saved as many more situations. The problem was this - look at the stats:

Still I didn't expect them to go through two,and at times three of our defenders so easily. But the main problem remains the attack. There we will suffer a lot until least while new guys are ready. We just can't score our chances.

We achieved an important victory. The team played well despite missing several key players. The statistics are good for us. We had weaknesses in defense again. The first goal was very easy. I don't know what the goalkeeper did, but this is how the Netherlands got back into the game :)
For now, we are managing to replace the suspended, injured and out-of-form players who play in defense. We still lack a little depth in the midfield. As I said after the previous match, the main problems are in attack. Today we could have led 5:0, but in the end we were trembling for the victory. We hit four or five posts... there were a few more stopped attacks. The new ones have to progress quickly :)
We are starting preparations for the match with Chile. Let's wish ourselves a good chance and that our players are healthy.
