Asunto: National Team

1) What was the idea behind 3 strikers basically sitting on top of each other?

Ok, here it goes. Coach of Chile was re-elected, and last season he used same tactic for long time, I was sure he won't change it, so I used 3 forwards in centre - watch what was defence of Chile placed before this match. If he wouldn't change it, it would be much higher than 2:1...anyway - we had a penalty too :-P

3) I dislike the defensive setup. You still seem to not have got the idea that you need to fill in the back square as we had defenders almost back in line with ando.

Also 3 defenders in the backline hmmm i dunno.

It was only due to Chiles previous tactic, don't worry. :)

Apart from those you got the win, but it wasn't really convincing.

err why did the CM and DM play in a line like 5 metres away from each other? That's just stupid as the DM would never pass it to the CM. If you're going to do a tactic like that you should play an AM so he's way further up the pitch.

DM ought to defend near defense, and CM to help him a little and make through passes, after tackling the ball in center of pitch

Also the 3 striekrs holding hands probably wasn't necessary. 3 in a row like that next to each other is a bit of a waste.

Don't worry - I just wanted to check which one of them should play, I still don't have updated skills of Hrehoresin, but it looks that he improved nicely. And he is in good form...

My feedback:

Right, first the positives:

1) A win is a win is a win.

2) I liked the tactic as a whole, if you had only fixed the little things I'm going to mention, but that's for later.

3) Perfect midfield selection. Absolutely spot-on. Even the subs were good. Collina looked incredible, why on earth is he playing defence for MV? Zdrilic on wing looks to be a prospect, but I thought the midfield that stepped out onto the pitch for the first half was the perfect combination.

4) Hrehoresin played really well.

Now the negatives, but I won't be too harsh on you because it was only a friendly:

1) Defence: Looked really vulnerable to crosses. No one at the near post? Also, when playing 3 defenders, the outside markers need to be the fastest, best ones. Here, Pilic was in the middle.

2) Midfield: Veart/Collina ran around too much. If you hadn't played two players there, the CM would've gotten really tired.

3) Amien underperformed.

4) Newhill had number 3 on his back. Think of the aesthetics, please!! He's not Mohammed Kallon, ffs. And he's our best striker, it doesn't matter if he's gonna lose his skills 5 seasons from now. Please make him take the penalties.

5) Throw-in setups were horrid, absolutely horrid.

Don't ask me why he plays, but his passing is great! Ideal airborne pass to Esala with first goal. A nice one from Timpano to Newhill too - only a bar...

Hr surprised me. 2 penalties made by him, one used, and one goal after corner kick...

The one who'll take the penalties will be the one with best shooting. With same level form will decide.

Hm...left side was horrid due to tactic change of Chile. Right side worked perfect, watch match again and see how it was. There was a problem on left side due to playing with 10ppl after Zdrilics injury...only one player on left side of pitch.

Alot has been said about the tactics etc, so I wont coment on that, more certain players.

As pointed out, Amien is underperforming, a shame really, he just keeps having troble controlling the ball. Would be nice to see if he controls the balls in his clubs matches (just interested to see if there is a direct link with a level of a skill and trapping the ball, as I thought all NT's should have a min. tech to trap ball).

Collina played awesomely, I think he should most definatly be a regular in the NT. Of course I dont know his skills or anything but he played great in that game.

Ando...what can I say about Ando...I think he got bored :P

Amien - only form is the trouble, he's as good as Newhill and Hrehoresin.

Collina - not good to play from beginning, but...hm...he played great, so maybe a sub...

I'm afraid of Garland :|
If he won't get healed...at least Broxton will.

Tactic for Argentina almost made, tomorrow I'll make one for friendly against Hungary.

I'm going on holiday, that's why I'm making them now. I'll try to find cyber cafes, though in case I wouldn't find I'll contact my friend. He has my password, so if someone gets injured, he'll make a change.

I'll also send sk-mails to owners of players, that are called up to game against Argentina to use them only in league games.

That's not really a conclusive answer on the CM/DM thing.

The CM is unlikely to make a tackle as his tackling is lower and if the DM gets the ball he's not going to pass to the CM. The result is the CM hardly got the ball.

Also the DM and CM sat virtually in the same place except in the attacking half. And more often than not in NT games in the attacking half whoever has the ball makes a pass straight away to the strikers and they either score, shoot or lose it and it's back into your half again. Hence the CM really had no opportunity to get the ball and was practically holding the DM's hand.

Anyway, atleast we won!

Why isn't Collina good enough to start? Pace+Tech?

it's a bit of a shame. He'd be our best mid with some more pace and a bit more tech. But I think you can use him in an AM role and he could still do a 60 odd minute job for us :)

About DM/CM....I had to use a DM, and not using CM would make too much free place in centre field. Sriram made it with Slovakia and you can see the result...
