Asunto: Friendly

I don't seem to be able to create a friendly ad, or accept someone else's friendly. Anyone else have this problem?
Oh and no, I don't already have a game scheduled!

I had this problem also and today I have discovered I am in a friendly league I didn't sign up for. It also appears you are in this friendly league.

I'm guessing you were signed up to it from a few seasons ago when it last ran, and forgot to remove yourself from the list afterwards and they've accepted you and started the league, otherwise I'm confused. I'm still confused at how Railriders can be 4th in a 12 team competition when they're hosting it, although I have a fair idea now of how that has happened.

Might also add this is trouto's problem also. Both must have been on that list from a few seasons ago now and didn't remove themselves when the league ended and they've been accepted back without them knowing by Railriders and the league has been activated either Saturday or Sunday. That means you can't accept other friendlies and you won't see the draw until Monday's (todays) updates and also means you now can't pull out of it either. Unless both are certain they weren't ever in this friendly league even 5-6 seasons ago and did withdraw, then I can go check this issue further but I think it's likely the former.

What a crock. I didn't know you had to remove yourself after it had finished.

neither did I actually as I use to always be the host and when it wasn't running I'd remove the FL each season. Seems a rather harsh penalty to have to pay, when you're not aware that someone else has accepted you into the FL without your knowledge, so I'm with you on this matter. Think it's a bit ridiculous. Might even propose this as a potential idea on the mods forum to eliminate future occurrences from happening. Should happen that when the FL is inactive, everyone gets chucked out, rather than still involved waiting for the 2nd round of the FL.

Absolutely. I wonder how many of the 12 teams in the FL actually wanted to be in it this season.

Do you know if Lowrider can cancel the FL now? Or is it too late?

think it's too late now that it's been activated and matches scheduled. I've posted the idea to mods forum, might even ask whether it's possible to remove some sides now but I don't think that will happen unfortunately.

Had the Friendly League been deleted, you wouldn't have to have removed yourself, but since it stayed dormant for I'd say at least 4-5 seasons you were still part of the invite list I'd imagine.

Actually might even have been a few seasons ago you applied for it but it never ran and you hadn't withdrawn either. That appears to be the most likely situation as I went through your matches and couldn't find any sign of you participating in Oz League III before.

Wow, bit of a wake-up call. Might be a good time for everyone to check that they're not part of any dormant leagues.

I'm pretty sure at least one team didn't even have the same team name & manager last time that friendly league ran. They inherited a team in a friendly league...

well, not too bad a problem, least i dont have to go thru looking for friendlies each week! On the minus side, no state cup!!

that's rather a selfish thing to say...

I'm a bit annoyed for the 27 others teams that are waiting for the thing to kick off...
hopefully we'll find 3 replacements...

I appreciate the work you put into the state cup Mink, and its a damm good idea too, generates heaps of interest and "friendly" rivalry ;-)
