Final Table:
Click here if you can't see the table
III
- TT almost avergare 10 goals a games with 131 goals scored during the regular season… what a feast it was!
- TGS got laminated at home by Elman FC 5-0 and drops serious points.
- Railriders continued its poor end of season with a 2-2 draw.
- New. Titans lost 2-1 against Memeam. And drop a bit on the ladder but managed to hang on to 1st spot in III.08.
- TCL came from behind (in the standing) and delivered a cruel blow to Bar Reef Utd. Final Score 1-0, the TCL having earned a quali game and the III.09 title.
- Inter lost at home 2-1 to Warrior XI. They fell to the bottom of the ladder but clinched the tittle in III.13.
- Metro FC got hold at home by Jonah's Men 1-1
- Jatt's Team beat World Class 4-2 on their ground, clinched the title and a spot on the ladder at the same time
II
- DAU trashed Mel. Victory on their ground 6-1.
As you can see a lot more happened in III where loads of teams failed to jump the last hurdle and where some others jumped on the occasion to capitalise. As always the race isnt finished until the last game...
There are some very interesting games to be played next sunday and I wouldnt be surprised to see a few teams from III shine and join the auto-promotees...

Alpine Hotspur vs Tupp United will be a cracker!
As far as II.03 goes, there wont be much change. Poor old Tornado Tigers, finally got out of II.03 last season only to yo-yo back in.
The league now has 6 very strong teams, so drawing a II.03 (or II.01 for that matter) quali game is a bit of a curse.

would it be wise to throw my match? i dont like the idea of getting whipped week in week out...but financially, would getting smashed in DII be better then winning in DIII?
depends what you're in atm. If you lose your qualifier your fan mood plummets, you get less end of season bonus and you start on low sponsorship money. You win and you'll gain the DII sponsorship money for your seasonal bonus and start on a high mood so at least for the first month you'd be earning more. However, if you continue to lose in DII it becomes questionable as to if you earn more than if you won everything in DIII.
Still finishing mid table in II would be better than finishing top of III I believe. I guess the example of that is with sx890410. Long term II is better than III.
Might also mention that in II you won't have new sides join in your league so sponsor money won't plummet from a new team signing up either.
Then there's the other aspect of prestige in making II. You'll learn more from II than from III even if you do get whipped.
I'd always try to win the qualification match but that's always been my view to progress as much as I can and then take whatever happens and gather the required resources/skills afterwards that I need to be competitive.

in a strong league like II.01 or II.03, you're guarenteed at least 200k per week if you're getting results once in a while. like cometer said, you'll learn LOTS more about tactics in a strong league. i wasn't planning on promoting at this stage last season, but look where i ended up :)
your sponsorship and fan mood will skyrocket after the promotion, but once you start losing the league games, people will start leaving and sponsorship will drop and fans get angry. but i guess that's all that comes together with playing in a strong league :)

I don't think anyone should take future promotion chances for granted. If you have a chance to go up, go up now. I've seen it here and in other games where people toy around with not promoting etc. A few unlucky results/injuries etc and they don't get another chance to promote for two or three seasons.
The other issue is that its really not nice being stuck in a league behind someone that whips everyone in their division, but intentionally throws their qualifiers.

To be honest, you probably wont have to throw your quali game. Canberra is a very strong team. If you can beat them, you can come 6th in II.03. If you can come 6th in II.03 then you will be making substantially more money than in III.06.
Leagues II.01 and II.03 are the most difficult leagues to survive in, and your fans will hate you. But you will be rewarded with $$ and massive growth if you do survive.
My suggestion would be to give it everything in the quali game. Promoting will not get any easier than it is right now. Canberra will be no easier to beat next season, nor any other team you come up against.
Good luck. :)

Not to mention the extra gate receipts from foreign supporters of the higher ranked clubs and the activity of the II.03 forum. I can't see the negative in at least trying. My belief has always been if you win then you're obviously good enough to be at that level and if you lose you're not. Those who autopromote are the ones who have to show they deserve to be there, all the other qualifiers have shown they can cope and they've done it the hard way.
I'd say go for it and see what happens ;). If nothing else it gives you an extra week of training and another competitive game to watch :).

Yes, it's definitely better to finish mid-table in II, and if you are active, you shouldn't go too badly.
Using II.01 as an example, looking at the performance of 'active' teams in their first season:
My first season in II: 20 points
Melbourne Victory FC: 13
Melbourne Magpies: 14
inter united: 20
Devil's Angels United: 10
All those teams have been active in their first season, and have performed rather well. If you weather the initial storm (minimalising fan, sponsor and morale loss), then you are in a good position to progress forward.
However, I'd still avoid II.03 as much as possible though. ;) Aim for II.02!

At the expense of losing another season with potentially less money, certainty of less experience/activity/advice, not to mention the chance that next season you either don't win the title or end up against II.03 again? (Trust me fate has a funny way of working. For example SLTFTF vs TG in the playoff for II.01 - has happened before. In fact making it even more unusual is the fact in that same season I came up from II.02 replacing Jyuukenbu and this season I'm taking on Jyuukenbu again for the A League-II.02 clash.)
I'd take any chance you got. Any div 2 league is better than a div 3 league imo :). Also II.03 will prepare you for A League better than any of the other leagues, although II.01 would do a nice job of that also.
