lol, tell you what. you exploit those holes as much as you can as a favour for both of us on wednesday, kapish? ;P
2009-01-05 04:44:14
Why would it be a favour to you?!
I'm trying something wednesday anyway... good test for me to see what a lucky II team can do :)
2009-01-05 04:48:07
so i can fix those holes before someone else in the league exploits them, that's why! :P

good luck, hopefully it doesn't backfire on you

Thanks Guys,

i didn't know that the strength of the teams in the league changes the sponsors payment. This is i would say the only reason why it has gone down (which i am not happy with)..because the mood of the supporters has been 'madly in love' all season...we have 2 new human teams come in this year.

I just went and checked what i got from the sponsors before my last game and it was 13k less then what i got last week..and that is alot cosidering i am only getting 111k atm...it got up to 128K but then came down very quickly....

with friendlies...i don't worry about winning my friendly games...because i am trying to get some extra money by playing away...is that a good idea? or should i try and play friendly games that i might actually have a chance of winning?

ps....i m not worried about losin my Quali game...because DAU has been managin his team for 10 months longer then i have (which is almost 3 seasons) so i didn't give myself much hope of winning the game anyways.....but it does suck that i have to deal with the negative side of the loss.

Debatable here, some would say playing the friendly gives you extra cash but I'd argue it's not as much as the difference in sponsorship for winning + the actual enjoyment boost you get from actually being competitive. You might get 5-10k cash more from the friendly but if it rains you might get a lower attendance anyway thus taking away the positive of gaining more cash.

The downside is a loss on top of other losses in the league doesn't help the supporter mood thus sponsorship can go down by 10k for a drop in supporter mood.

So it's a bit iffy, it can work out you gain a bit extra in cash but it won't be a large amount maybe 10-20k a week more but it can also work against you and have you earn maybe 5-10k more and also a drop in sponsorship if your fans are already disappointed in performances.

Actually here's the most important thing in my book. Friendlies are best used to play your players you are training outside of your normal starting side as they are what the future of your club is going to be built from, either themselves or the money they bring on from selling. Training is pretty essential to get right, it brings in the most money long term.

So picking an equally strong opponent and playing trainees is a way to get both winning & training effectively, although playing trainees against stronger teams can work if they bring in the gate receipts by a significant difference.

yeah i see what u mean...but this is what i do when i decide a friendly game...

what the size of the stadium is and what position is the opponent in their league. Because i know that if u are first or second in your league your fans would be happy and they will turn up to the friendly game....hence more money for me...

Also, since i know i have a very good chance of winning my league game the fans will always be happy and have been......i played a home game last week and only for 7k from it...where as i played a away game two weeks ago and got 18k...i also played two other games a few weeks back and got over 35K from each of them...so that for me is alot since my sponsors dont give me much money...and as i said before it been going down...so i dont think me winning will make more then a 7K diff....things might be different if i am getting around 300k from the sponsors(which is about 20 seasons away haha)

The other thing is the away games i play i dont get smashed 7 or 8 nil....it sometimes is alot closer and i sometimes even win. :)

The fact that you had 2 new humans coming into your league to replace BOT would drastically lower you sponsoship money. It probably had a bigger effect than losing a game or two to be fair...

1) Give it everything to auto-promote next season.

2) Come and help me retain the State Cup trophy for Victoria. :D It's great experience and good fun to pit your team against an array of different tactics.

3) The best way to get enthusiastic about the game is to find an NT prospect, train him up and watch him do Australia proud. :)

yeah now i think it is...because i didn't actually know that it effected the sponsors...because the teams they replaced were good Bots who didn't get smashed 6 ot 7 nil each game....lets hope there are no new human teams this comin season. :)

I would love to come up to Div II and mix it with the best..dont know it if will be able to help you much for atleast 1 season :)

but i am happy with where my team is atm...since i started building it up with just 16, 17 and 18 year olds...just the sponsors r annoying me...

Btw how do i get auto promotion? do i have to win every game? or is there a goal difference issue?

Top 25% of all league winners auto promote, so for III to II I believe 4 league winners autopromote. That's based on points obtained in the league, then goal difference and if still undecided goals for. After that league position end of last season which is a bit of a dodgy comparison but that doesn't happen too often.

cool thanks...now i know what vivski meant about giving it my all...hahaha...i will give it a full crack this season just need to change my tactics to me more attacking...and get the goals...see how i go :)

It's great starting with a really young squad and training them up. Looking back to when I first promoted to II, I think almost all my players were under 20. The development of young players is what keeps this game interesting long-term.
2009-01-05 12:45:51
I have 2 veterans of 22 years old. 1 will be sold off in 6 weeks. Having young players is great, but I'm looking forward to having a first team full of 24 year old who kick @ss rather than a team of potential. Probably comes from being a frustrated Arsenal fan!!

should be a good experience though if your patient enough to ride the waves. A huge chance to learn a chunk about tactics. What this season will highlight is whether you can use the tactic editor to a reasonable standard and if you learn that by season's end you've had a successful season imo.
