Asunto: stadium discussion

I want to do some analysis on stadium construction. Friendlies are useful because they are empty. Here is my last game:
attendance = 3724
563--536--532-----B-B-B
342--------331-----S----S
550--304--566-----B-S-B

Benches = 2747 / 3724 = 0.737
Seats = 977 / 3724 = 0.262
Also note that there are 10% more in the behind seats than in the line seats. We need more data to confirm if that is just coincidence. Benches are the same price everywhere and attendance in each bench section varies by less than 10%.

Can some others post their friendly attendances please? Especially interested in those with roofs with different weather. My ultimate aim is to discover if a roof attracts more to the game on all days or just wet days.

For the record my findings were inconclusive. I might try and dig the data up and have another look at it though.

yeah I remember but the thinking behind it worth a look as well as the many inputs from other users. If Uber is going to do anything with numbers it's good he sees what has been done before... it's not all negative imo :)

Thanks for the links. I did do some forum searches and I found the napthali thread before I posted. It really died out after a good start with no conclusions.

I finally found the answer. Who would have thought... in the rules! Under 10. The Supporters:

There are certain groups of supporters, some of which will not attend matches if you will not provide them with the best possible conditions in the stadium. For instance, some of them may not come if there are no covered seats for them to view the game in.

This indicates to me that more supporters will come to your game if you have at least some roofed stands. I will build a roof on one of my stands and we can compare percentages/extra fans.

Dude a roof is expensive. Especially for your level, not sure if that's a great idea just yet.

Yeah, I'd have to recommend making a study of established teams with roofs.

I had moderate success with getting information from people. All you need is 1 established team with a roof to report their crowds to you and it will be just as effective (for answering this question) as building a roof yourself.

I think it's a bit early for you to chuck money on a roof... spend it on coach or juniors first imo...
I waited 5 seasons in my case to get a bit of roof.

I'd tell you if I had a roof.

Might get one for next season, but not the best time to get one just now.

I'd say don't do it until you're confident you've finished building in that section...moreso if you have visions of reaching the top flight.

My aim is to get to something like 8k (seats) on each side/end with 4k (seats) in each corner...48k total...then maybe look at a roof if I'm happy enough I'm done with building. & by that time money (hopefully) would be the least of my troubles.

Today I had heavy showers against the frogs.

all my benches had about 3.3k spectators, wheras my two roofed serats had 9.8k spectators. Now if those seats werent covered, and had about 3k also in them (I have no fact ot base this on just general discussion) I would be 144k down on my gate reciepts

Those are my home league matches this season. Looks like I could have used a roof this season with the weather I've been having.
