oh jeez, i dont think i have had a home game where it was sunny :(

why is WA having such crap weather? it isnt this bad IRL... we're getting ripped! >:(
2008-11-19 12:16:54
Weather is randomly generated I think. Not exactly sure if it's like a form scale or not. ACT seems to get good weather when I have home games so it's good from that perspective ;).

This is based on a tiny sample, so I understand it could be inaccurate. I am using percentages so weather shouldn't affect, nor should the number of attendees.

Stadium layout with each section having 2000 spots.
B--S--B
(S)----S
B--S--B

Analysis 1 -
Benches and seats as above, no roof:
372-127-368
116------132
357-117-369
Tot Bench spectator = 1466 av = 366
Tot seat spectator = 492 av = 123
Seat/bench ratio = 33%

Analysis 2 -
Benches and seats as above, brackets are covered seats (weather was non rainy)
673-230-618
(524)----252
619-227-608
Tot bench spectator = 2518 av = 630
Tot seat spectator = 709 av = 236
Tot cover seat spectator = 524
Av seat / av bench ratio = 37%
Av covered seat / av seat = 222%

So if you accept that 33% is pretty close to 37% and the same people who would have sat in benches before would still be sitting in benches, then you can say that the same percentage of people are sitting in the benches and the seats in both games. Then you could say that the covered seats are adding 120% to what that stand would have had in it, plus that normal seat people are paying an extra $2 to sit there. Maybe the covered seats has a greater benefit than just getting more people in the rain and $2 extra per person? I would say that covering the seats has got an extra 290 people to the game which is about an 8% attendance gain.

What do you think of that?

it does say in the rules, that if no seat covered are provided some people wont come regardless the weather...

There are certain groups of supporters, some of which will not attend matches if you will not provide them with the best possible conditions in the stadium. For instance, some of them may not come if there are no covered seats for them to view the game in.

so basically what you're saying, we could already find it in the rules :)

ha ha. Thanks minkee!

I think what I have done is quantify that number as around 10% of spectators won’t come if you don’t have covered seats.

My conclusion is that an all covered seat stadium take way too long to pay off with just $2 extra per seat and a couple of saved rainy games – as everyone on these forums always say….. but having 10% of your stadium as covered seats is essential to maximise your spectators and ticket revenue.

Are the corners based as along the line or behind the goals?
2009-01-22 04:08:29
Behind the goals.

I second Uber.

Thanks, thought I'd read that somewhere.

This is the seat distribution for my last few games, 46,000 seat stadium with 39,000 undercover (inexplicably so, I thought I had the whole stadium undercover, so I'm putting a roof on now).

The section with 100 spectators at one of the games is the uncovered part.
